My open Duodenal Switch is scheduled for 3/25/2004. I'm so excited! I've been fat my whole life. Hooray!

Hello all! I am 3 weeks post-op as of yesterday & feeling good. I can eat normally, just small amounts very slowly. I have a lot of smelly diarrhea in the mornings and very smelly gas. I feel bad for my hubby. LOL I am down 25 lbs from pre-op already! I was off of pain killers by day 3 following surgery. I love my DS so far.

Hi Everyone! I go back to work tomorrow & boy am I bummed. I am feeling great but the time off has been so nice. I have lost 40 lbs already. My problems with gas & diarrhea have greatly improved. I have 1-2 BMs per day, in the morning. I might have more later in the day if I eat too many carbs, but otherwise no! I have become lactose intolerant which really sucks but I hear that should go away after a while. Overall, I'm very happy with my weight loss & my DS!

Hello... I am doing great so far! Today, I weigh 246, which is a loss of 53 lbs. I am eating more normally every day, and the gas is becoming less. Work is crazy already but I have jumped right into the fire. I can still wear my size 26 clothes but they are practically falling off. Hooray!

Hi, it's been a while since I've updated my profile. I've now lost 72 lbs!!!! I'm so happy. I weigh 227 now. I can't believe how easy this surgery makes it to lose weight that would NOT come off before. Dr. Lutrzykowski is an ANGEL!

I guess I'm not very good at keeping up with this online profile! I'm down to 162 lbs. today and still losing. I have a large incisional hernia that will be repaired along with a tummy tuck later this year. I wear a L or XL top (due to the hernia) and a size 12 pants! Hooray! I have no problems with gas anymore, and my BMs are usually in the morning only, but BOY do they stink! The stench lingers on my clothing so I try to get it all out before I shower. LOL All in all, I am SO very happy with my DS!

I've got a date for my hernia repair & tummy tuck. November 28. I can't wait to get rid of my little alien. LOL I am about 160 lbs. now and not losing much at all anymore. But it's OK with me as long as I don't gain any back. I am in a size 10 pants and still a L or XL top due to the hernia & extra skin on my abdomen. I am hoping to be an 8 or better-fitting 10 after my surgery. I LOVE my DS! :-)

Dr. Lutrzykowski is SO nice! He spent a lot of time with me, explaining everything & answering all of my questions. He is extremely sensitive, warm & caring. Dr. Lutrzykowski requires a strict aftercare program, with a fee of $4500 which is normally NOT covered by insurance. I can't wait for my surgery!
