I am a 29 year old who has struggled my entire life to overcome my weight problem. I have been successful with a few attempts only to sadly gain the weight back over a period of time. I'm hoping to lose weight and keep it off with surgery.

9/19/00 Well, this isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I had surgery on July 11, 2000, and everything went very well. I have lost 32 pounds so far. I feel great, but I am disappointed that I'm not thin yet. Impatient--you bet. I know that the loss will come, but I do feel that I should have lost more weight by this point. I guess I expected to wake up in the hospital as a skinny person:) I am exercising five days a week, and sticking to a diet plan. It will come off...

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: John Huse
Dr. Huse is very professional. He is a bit too business-like for my taste. He never cracks a smile, and he makes absolutely no small talk. The office staff at the Bariatric Center in Indianapolis is wonderful. Dr. Huse's office is at another location, and I'v not yet met the people over there, although the woman who schedules everything isn't overly friendly either. Dr. Huse and his partners have a very comprehensive program. Patients go in with their eyes wide open. There are preop classes and postop support and exercise programs.
