Well I'm 32 years old and have struggled with my weight for most of my life. The last ten years have definately been the worse. My sister and I are both going for this surgery it will be good to have someone to go through this with. We have both been approved since december and we went to detroit for our psychologist appointments on january 4th. All was fine we have since been finishing up all our pre op testing which can be alittle bit time consuming here.

Well it's all done now yeah.. So we have our first appointment with Dr. Webber June 1st. Its been over a year since we started this journey. I have quit smoking knowing i would have to. Three more days till my one year anniversary of being smoke free. It was not easy but soo glad I had to do it. I was quite the heavy smoker. Well now i'm rambling but I figured I should start keeping a journal now that things look like they are going to start rolling along.

September 5th 2005- Well hello all it's been a long time since i've updated. It is officially 7 weeks today since surgery and things have been going pretty good for me. My sister who had the surgery on the same day has been having some food issues but I think she is just beginning to jump that hurdle. I have offically lost 49 pounds as of today and my clothes are litterally falling off of me.

I was in the hospital twice this weekend but nothing to do with the surgery I was told I had one kidney stone before I went in for surgery well apparently there are two now and moving and quite painful so Time to go and do the dreaded cystoscopy..yikes..

On a more serious note the same day my older sister and myself had our surgery our little sister 22years old had an m.r.i. done due to migraines and a brain tumor was found . We found out august 11th that it was cancer and she officially began treatment september 1st she is an inspiration for us all to see her keeping her chin up and taking such a positive role. I mean at first like all of us the shock was too much and there was a lot of crying but right now she's holding pretty tough and very certain that she's pulling through this. I couldn't be more proud to be her sister.

Now that I have one of the coolest pages on the block..lol.. Just envisioning cartman yelling (no kitty these are my cheesie puffs.. no kitty ...bad kitty..laughs)... I will have to keep everyone more updated.

November 18th 2005- Hello everyone well it's been such a lont time since my last update. Life has been rather hectic my little sister who has cancer was admitted october 15th with a massive blood clot that went from her leg to her lungs. It was quite critical but she must be quite a figher cause she is here. She is home for the weekend on a pass we are all so glad to have her home.
As for my post op condition it's been fine. I went on october 13th I had to go in and have my kidney stone lasered it was stuck as stuck could be.lol. I had a stent put in which is a tube basically from my kidney to my bladder it has to stay there for two weeks which really sucked it just made me feel like I had to pee all the time. I was glad to get it out. As for weight loss it's coming off I seem to lose for a week or two then stall for a week or two I cant complain . I am officially down 83 pounds which is amazing . I'm just starting to feel a bit of hunger here and there more so when it's my normal time to eat so I think it's more conditional than physical. I'm down to a size 16 wooohoo. You know if some skinny person every read this they would think how awful ..laughs.. but I know my fellow OH partners will understand just how great this size feels I was between a size 26-28 so this is a huge downsizing. Well now that charlene is home I'll try and keep my site more updated. Have a great day everyone.

January 25th 2006- Hi long again since the last update I know. Well the pictures above were posted just yesterday I just forgot to date them. So it has been just a little bit over six months since surgery and i'm doing pretty good. Home life is pretty busy with my younger sister being ill but when it comes to healing from the surgery I have to say for myself it's gone pretty smoothly. I'm at a little bit of a slow down right now but I guess that is the be expected as you get closer to goal weight. I have had no major food issues there have been a few times when you just know that the specific food you have eaten is just not going down and the discomfort gets to the point where you have to say to yourself get that food out of your stomache or continue to suffer and I guess i'm gifted enough (laughs) to assist myself. They have been so very few times maybe six all together. I haven't dumped and hope not to BUT i'm too much of a chicken to test myself. Being a chicken can be helpful sometimes. Well i'll try and update more often as I've said before. Bye for now.

    Surgeon Info:
    Surgeon: John Webber M. D.
My first impression was wow he's young.lol. I was very happy with his work and his bedside manner. His old staff was not very efficient but his newer staff was definately more reachable and competant. I guess future patients could know that he comes off as rather serious at times but he definitely has a funny bone ine him. He is very consciencious about he we take care of ourselves afterwards. Overall I would say that he was really a good surgeon and had both a good bedside manner as well as a good surgical job done. Oh yeah and cant forget Sue she was great and helped us out a lot in the hospital.

Dealing with OHIP was a little long but no real complaints about them . My job was great and was given four weeks off to recover from my surgery. Overall I can complain.
