Hi, my name is Karen. I am divorced with 3 children. ages 21,18,and the baby is 6. I gained over 100 pounds with last child. I live in Riverside,Ca. I have been fighting with my Insurance company for 4 years to get the gastric bypass. My insurance is Kaiser. I work parttime and I'm planning to go back to school. My hobbies include: Reading, going to movies, I love music and concerts, The mountains and beach and of course dining out with friends. I love animals especially Dogs and Cats. My Rednose Pitbull is my best buddy. She is a great nurse dog. I have many ailments because of the weight. My surgery date is in 5 days. I'm excited and afraid all at the same time. I dont know why I'm having alot of anxiety. I have fought tooth and nail for this surgery. I hope I've prepared myself for the dramatic changes that are going to happen. I hope I can drink all that water and protein. I have never taken a vitamin in my life. So I hope I can get the vitamin regiment down. I dont want to have nutrional problems. Any advice is welcome! I feel like I'm entering into a foreign land that I have yet to understand. kk I'm now 15 days post op. It was the post painful surgery I have ever endured. It was worse than Childbirth. It was so bad I wanted to die. I wish people would have told me about the pain so I would have been somewhat prepared. I have lost 20 pounds and am now at 240. My stomach still hurts on the upper left hand side so I have not exercised yet. I haven't lost weight in 3 days so I'm going to try and get on my treadmill later today. Even though it's been rough I would do the surgery again in a heartbeat. I don't know if that means I'm crazy or not. This new pouch is going to enable me to lose weight that I could not on my own. It's going to help regain my life. I gotta go now and drink my protein. Yuk I hate it but I have to do it. kk I'm now 5 months out. These plateaus really suck. I have been on a plateau for the last month. At least I'm finally under 200 pounds. I actually have to diet now. My pouch can hold alot. No one told me that would happen. Well gotta go drink protein. kk
