Hi again Jonnie is doing well, She developed an infection and had to return to surgery Friday (one week after surgery). But keep inmind that her surgery was a bit more complicated than most. Dr is really happy with her progess and so is she. She has her down time - but thru most of it she is doing great!! Jonnie is amazed at her new body. She is getting full (stuffed full) just taking liquid with her medications. She thought you would all appreciate that. So, she is well, and looking forward to getting out of the hospital. She still needs encouragement and support. Anyone that would like to send her an e-greeting can do so -- either to her email address or to mine. (I will print them and take them to the hospital.) That's it for now.

Hi all, Things are going as expected. Jonnie was up and walking yesterday (Monday) 3 times-- She was able to walk down the hallway about 3 doors. She sat in the chair for a while and had a popcycle to eat. Pain is pretty bad, she is still really sleepy, they think it is from the epideral. Today, Tuesday 7/11/00. they took the epideral out. Jonnie said she went from a little pain to 'death' pain in 15 min. -- the shot they gave her didn't touch the pain at all. After 2 1/2 hours they crushed up some pills (vicoden) and that helped. She has been thru a rough day. She is still really sleepy, that is good -- she doses in and out and the more she sleeps the less of this pain she will have to tolerate. Her sprits were low today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for her. more later

Hello to all, I visited Jonnie this evening, (saturday, July 8th) She looked GREAT!! She was very tired and could hardly stay awake. She is still in ICU but thinks she will be moved to a regular room tomorrow. They had her up and in a chair twice today. She says she is in a lot of pain unless she stays very very still, and she says her feet feel very hot, but they are not hot to the touch -- may have something to do with the spinal. She was having ice chips and loving it (Jonnie always loves ice chips -- ALWAYS!!) All in all thing are proceeding as expected. She is so happy to have the surgery behind her. MORE TOMORROW (OR LATER TONIGHT)
