8/13/02 Gosh time sure does fly. I had my surgery. Hospital stay wasn't the greatest but I,m home and doing real good except I tire real easy. It's been two weeks today and I've lost 25# already. I started swiming once a day to try and build my strength.
7/11/02 Well I'm back from our trip to my husbands family. It's only 19 more days until my surgery. I'm finding I'm starting to get nervous and having a hard time sleepping. Thank goodness my doctor already has me on a sleep ad when I need it. My Pre-op is on the 25th and I'm driving there that morning (we live almost 300 miles away) then I'm going to go vist some of my family that live north of Portland for a couple of days. Then I will meet my husband on the 27 at the RV park where we are going to stay. I to be at the hospital at 6:45 AM to check in then they will take me to have an Epidural put in then my surgery is around 11:30. It's just a matter of hurry up and wait now. Thanks again for all your support. 7/1/02 yipeeeeeeeee It's finaly July, that means my surgery date is this month, only 29 days and counting. We're leaving tomarrow for our vacation so when we get back it will be only 2 weeks until I leave for Portland. I'm so excited but a little scared. 6/25/02 It's thirty-five more days. Who's counting, LOL. Thank you to all those who are posting to me, your incouragement is very helpfull. I found a protin drink that both my husband and I like. it's Whey Protein by Edge HP and I got it at Wal-Mart. I blend it with 1/2 cup pinapple and 1/2 cup milk and a cup of water, it tast realy good. I hope it still tasts good after my surgery. I've started taking Flintstone vitamins, I never took vitamins befor, I never liked them. We're going to a family reunion over the 4th holiday. It's my husbands family and I'm realy stressed over it.

5/29/02 After several phone calls to my Dr. to see if they sent off my request for surgery. I found out today that the request is in the hands of my insurance. My insurance told me to check back in 3 to 5 days. Keep your fingers crossed for anything else you can cross that my surgery will get approved.

5/9/02 I've seen my doctor and am currently waiting for my insurance appoval.

6/4/02 I received word from my insurance that my surgery has been approved. My surgery date is 7/24/02. I,m so excited. I turn 50 this weekend, so I feel like I will be starting a whole new life.

6/11/02 I found out the other day that the Dr. office gave a dummy date to my insurance so the 24 isn't my surgery date. I keepped calling untill I had a date for sure. It's now 7/30/02 and my pre-op is the 25. That's only a week later so that ok.

6/21/02 Well It's the first day of summer. We've had thunder storms today, here in southern OR. I had a phone call from OHSU today to tell me what time I'm to arrive at the hopital, 6:45 AM, then they will take me to have my epideral put in then wait for my surgery around 11:30 AM. From what I've read I was afraid I would be awake for my surgery, but the epideral is for after. They asured me I would be asleep. It only 39 more days.
