Well, I made it to the other side! With the surgery and moving in to a new house at the same time, this is the first chance I've had to log on and update. I'm doing great. I've lost 19 lbs since 5/15 and I feel great. No more diabetes meds, or reflux meds! Eating has just become a different kind of adventure than before the surgery. I never drank as much fluid before surgery as I should have, so my challenge now is to get enough fluid in every day. To sum up, I'm happy, doing well, and excited about my new journey. Thanks to all the well wishers and good luck to everyone on his/her own journeys.

Congratulations on your rebirh date, 17 days and counting....can you believe it....my surgery is scheduled for the same date at Southpointe Hospital in St. Louis. Hears to a speedy recovery for all.

I can't believe after all the waiting for a consultation, approval and a surgery date, I've got less than 3 weeks to go! I can't believe how quickly time is flying by now. I'm nervous, I'm thrilled, I'm scared, and I can't wait to start a new healthier life. As an emotional eater, I worry about the lifestyle changes I'll need to make and how I'll handle "head hunger", but I know this surgery is my chance to live a long, healthy, happy life and I'm so ready to start! Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.
