My first impression of Dr. Shina was very good. I could tell that he was interested and truly supportive of his patients. The only office staff that was there was his wife Holly, who is his nurse and leads the after-care program. and a gentleman who works with getting the insurance approvals. I was a little a leary at first, seemed a little like a FAT factory, but that impression definately changed as I learned more. The staff wants every patient to be very well informed and to know that this is a change for the rest of your life and the commitments that you have to be willing to make to do it. Dr, Shina really emphasized the after care as being just as much of the key to success as the surgery itself. It is a very well structured program and I left feeling very comfortable with him and his staff. He encouraged questioning and really made sure every question was answered and that everyone was clear on all aspects of this lifestyle change.He did address all the complications and risks. I rate Dr. Shina really high and cannot wait to have my surgery performed. The only thing that bothered me was that he kept yawning all through the seminar and I kept thinking, I ope he is not that tired when he does my surgery!!!
