I have an appointment tomorrow 2-29-00 for a pre-op gastric bypass evaluation. I have no idea what that means or what it is about. I am scared to death I will say or do something that will ruin my chances for approval. If anyone has any suggestions or help about what this is about please inform me.

Thanks,

I have been approved by Blue Cross Blue Shield after just one attempt! I was really surpised. My surgery is scheduled for October 2, 2000. I still have all my pre-op tests to do and gall bladder ultra sound. I am hoping there are no obsticles in my way, since I am an older woman seeking this surgery. I have noticed most surgeries are done on women under the age of 50.

I will keep you posted.

Surgery was 3 weeks ago today. I am still having a great amount of pain and unable to eat meats of any kind. I am walking 1 to 2 miles a day and trying to return to work. Haven't been able to work a full day as yet. I joined Weight Watchers before my surgery figuring I can use all the support I can get. I went for a weigh in today. (First time since the surgery) I weighed 255.4. I was amazed. I weight 300 just before surgery.

I will write more in the future.
