Well i am a smart, humorous person who got tired of being fat and having people treat me different. Surgery has gave me back my life and gave me something to look forward to.

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: J.K. Champion M.D. F.A.C.S
Dr. Champion was a wonderful person. He was kind and and never treated me different because of my weight. He's still a great person after 8 months. He's very encouraging and helpful. The office staff were wonderful also and helpful with all the insurance info. and paperwork. He has like a contract that you sign agreeing to exercise and not to eat things like ice cream. He also emphasizes the use of vitamins and protein suppliments. This is very important. He explain both the RNY and the VBG and the risks and benefits of each one. He didn't push either on me but let me decide on my own which was best. I was told of the risks and the percentages of those complications.I think surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important and Dr. Champion has both down to a science. He's Great!!!!! I have had no negative experiences but everyone is different.
Insurer Info:

I didn't deal with them at all. I sent all my paperwork to Dr. Champion with $50.00 for sending everything to the insurance company and then i waited for them to say yes or no. It took 6 weeks and i was approved.
