I am a thirty year old single mom who has gained a new desire to live after obesity surgery. Just to add a little....
I am now one week post-op and I feel much better. I did have a few days where I was not sure what was going on. I thought for sure I was'nt going to make it. hahaha but I am here and feeling much better. I ahd my first appointment this past Thursday with the doctor and I have lost 17lbs... I am estatic!!!! This news has been the best I have had in many years and for the first time I was ble totake a walk with out complaining to my children to slow down I cant breathe or not so fast my legs are hurting.. It was the greatest feeling. Well until next week... Keep on pressing on it will all be worth it in the end. It has now been 3 months since my surgery and boy has it been hard. Decising to do this was the best decision I have ever made for myself but the road is a little tough. I am now down 36 lbs ans feeling really good. I loose about 3-4 lbs weekly. In the begining I was a little discouraged because the weight is coming off really slow but I was advised by my doctor not to worry it looks like a litle now but it will all add up. Starting out I was very afraid to eat thinking I would do something to hurt myself so I played it safe and that caused me to gain 7lbs. Shattered my heart was but i made the corect transitions and now I am doing well. Exercise is still a little tough for me with the Lymphedema in my leg but the asthma is now under control.. Oh what a few lost pounds can do. I have lost enough weight to go down two sizes in my clotes and that put the icing on the cake for me. Seeing myself in a new light is an understatement!!! and my fiancee is not to upset either hahaha... Keep your head up everyone and remeber you can do it... Anything worth having is worth going through a little pain to obtain. Be Blessed

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Ajay Goyal, MD, FACS
My first impression of Dr, Goyal was great. He was very open with me and as funnny as ever. My impressions have not changed much. I enjoy being under his care. His office staff was very nice and helpful to me. They were able to answer any questions I had and assisted me in any way they could. Future patients should no that he is very forthcoming and honest . He will not lie to you about anything that could or woudl take place after surgery. He emphasizes after-care to the 100th degree and really does expect you to hold up your end of the bargain. His aftercare program is very structured. He gives appointments frequently to make sure you are doing well. I would rate Dr. Goyal a ten. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are great. Many people have a way of making obese people feel less than. Dr. Goyal and his staff made me feel as though I was the most beautiful person inspite of my weight. I really appreciate them for that.
