May 7th, 2001 Hi I am a 37 year old Male with the same problem that alot of you have. I am 5'11" and weigh 325#. I have been overweight most of my life except for a few years during high school when I was very active in sports. Ive tried alot of different diets such as Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, Seattle Sutton, and Opti Fast with none of them working very well. I have two wonderful kids. My daughter Anna who is seven and my son Evan who will be 3 on July 1st. I also have a wonderful wife Sandy who almost always treats me better than I deserve. I am extremly thankful for all of her loving support. My weight problem never concerned me much in the past because I never felt overweight but lately I have been experiencing some problems due to my weight such as back aches, aching joints, low energy level, low self esteem, and the most serious of them is diabetes type 2. Wanting to live long enough to see my children grow up I've decided to do some research on the Bariatric Surgery. After researching the surgery I decided to talk it over with my doctor. He thought that it would be a good idea to talk to a surgeon. Friday I called and was very surprised when they said I could come in on the 7th at 1:30 to talk to a surgeon.
