I have just passed my one year.

I'm almost to my ideal weight. I cannot believe that I'm almost there.

I started out at 228 lbs. I'm now at 143 lbs. I would like to see 120, so I've only (Only) 23 more to go.

It has been tough.

One week after the surgery, I contracted an internal infection. I still had the staples in and they were going to run a CT scan. I couldn't drink that barrium, at least not in the quanity that they wanted. At first I thought that I had injured something internal or who knows.

I had pain always in my tummy, near my navel just off to the right side. It would come and go...I mentioned it in the first post op visit...they dismissed it as scarring. The pain wouldn't subside infact over the months it got worse. Finally I saw my GP and he suggested to see the Wish Dr. again. I visited them in July. It turnes out that I had a hernia from the surgery. The internal sutures didn't heal properly. I had the hernia repaired in August.

I had now another pain higher up than the hernia, it comes and goes. This time they just want to control the pain. I had another CT scan and there was nothing present.

Other than that, I'm fine, active, and off alot of medication that I was on before the surgery.

The first impression of Dr. S. was that he was of a small stature. He was very pleasant, and took time with all the questions that I and my husband had. He was very informed on the subject, as he should be since this is what he does. The office staff were great and easy to talk with. They knew that I was there for help. Every one there was very informed about everything.

I couldn't wait any longer so I called the insurance company. I found out that I've been approved. I'm just waiting for the date of surgery and preoperative stuff. I'm really scared. The hospital is so far from home. My husbands' been great. The insurance will only pick up 80% because the hospital and Dr. are out of network. The husband says to go for it. Make yourself happy. I have not been happy in a few years. I need this.
