Howdy! Im 27 years old married for 2 and a half years, no children YET..Will hoefully be able to start a family a few years after surgery.

I went to a group meeting tonight and got to meet Dr Vierra, he seems to really know his stuff. I talked to him after the meeting to ask him a guestion, he was very nice and took my info right there and put my name in his palmpilot. I was excited to see that he is so nice and easy to talk to.

Dr. Vs office called today. He wants me to start to get my pre op appts out of the way now. I got my labs done today and have an appt for my chest x-ray, EKG, nutritionalist, and my psych eval. Wow, it really helps to talk to him, he really got things going for me.

I had my consult with Dr.V At first he was very intimidating and didnt really look at me much, but as soon as he told me that he WOULD do the surgery he was very nice and talked to me instead of looking at my chart.
I have my pre op appt on July 3rd, and surgery is scheduled for July 21st. :-)

Well I had my pre-op appointment...It went GREAT! I lost 14 lbs since 6/18. Dr. V was very nice and told me Ive been doing a good job and hell see me the 21st for surgery. Still no news on my insurance yet, but they said that they usually dont have a problem with the insurance I have. Well now for the worst part..The waiting!! :-)

WooooWhooo! I just found out that I was approved for the surgery, so now everything is a GO!

My surgery went great, I was in the hospital for two nights and was home by 11 on wed. (surgery was Mon. 7/21) The first few days were ruff I had some pain and awful hickups...which made the pain worse. the pain lasted till friday, but then I was fine. Ihavent had any pain since then, but still have hickups. Im eating anything that can be blenderized which actually isnt as bad as it sounded before surgery.:-) I havent had any nausea or vomiting even when in the hospital. I have my first post op appt. on Wed. so Ill let ya all know how much Ive lost.

WOOOOOWHOOO! My firt post-op appt whent good, fast but good, I have lost a total of 43lbs since I first say him on June 17,03 and am continueing to loose. I still feel great Im never hungry so I have to force myself to eat and am still dealling with those darn hickups, and my energy level is through the roof. Next appt on 8/2/03. cant wait to see my weight then!

Well all is still going good, I feel great and havent had any problems (Thank God) I have already lost a total of 58 lbs and have lost 3 pants sizes. Im so glad I made the decision to have the surgery, its the best thing Ive ever done. Well thats all for now I have to get back to studying...The last year of nursing school is HARD!!!
Next Vierra appointment is Oct. 2nd.

Hello all! Well today is exactly 2 months post op...Im still doing great. The only problem is I still want to drink with meals and I drink to fast. Dr V doesnt want us using straws, but I found that it makes me drink smaller sips and slower so I have started using straws with my liquids and its been working really well. I can eat anything, but Im never hungry and when I am hungry I get so tired of chewing that I just am not interested in food anymore. I am so happy with my weight loss, I have now lost a total of 65 pounds and my self esteem and energy level is through the roof. Hope ya'll are doing good and god bless!

Wow I cant believe its almost Christmas! Well Thanksgiving was very hard for me..I couldnt eat at all that night but finally had some turkey the day after but it didnt settle well at all. I am now having problems eating chicken and turkey, it mmakes me throw up white foam....Does anyone else have this problem? Oh well I have been doing great, I have lost a total of ......get this....94 pounds!!! Can ya believe it!? Sometimes I sure cant, its like im a whole new person and Im lovig it! Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and I will hopefully make it to another group metting this month, its been real busy with school and all, But if not I wish ya all a Merry Christmas!!

Happy new year!! Well I went to Dr. Vs on Thursday...He was totally shocked, he didnt even recognize me at first. I have lost 108 lbs now and man can I notice. I feel great and handle food well exept still have white foam when I eat poultry. I even had the nerve to cut off most of my hair...Ive always had long hair and always thought that short hair made my face look fat, but not no more, I love it!

Wow has it really been thi long since Ive writen on here!? Well ALOT has happend since then. I have lost a total of 140 pounds, shopped off most of my long hair, graduated from Nursing school, and a now 5 months pregnant with my first child!! My pregnancy has been going OK, been sick lot and lost about 12 pounds the first couple of months. I hve now not gained or lost any weight for the past 3 months and Dr V and my OB/GYN feel that, that is ok. I had an ultrasound on the 22 and they say that the baby is just fine (thank GOD). I am still not having any problems related to the surgery nd am looking forward to celebrating my one year aniversary in July!

WOW its been a busy time since I was last on here. I am now the proud Mommy of a 3 month old baby boy. Im finally done with school and have a great job, and have lost over 140 pounds. I cant believe that my life could be this good! Im so glad that I did the surgery. Gotta go keep in touch everyone.
