Marcie, You are BEAUTIFUL!! Your senior picture posted before your surgery is simply BREATHTAKING! I'm not saying that lightly. I am a very blunt person and I would not say it if I did not mean it. Really, Girl, you have it going on! I was looking at how your weight dropped after surgery. I had my surgery on 03/16/04 and my weight seems to be dropping just like yours. In 4.5 months, I think I am down 65-70 pounds. I know a lot of people do it faster but I feel really good about my weight loss right now because my skin is not sagging too bad. I also take aquatics a couple of days a week. That burns calories more than land aerobics and it also tones you up. Anyway, enough about me. I just wanted to say to you "Be encouraged, continue to press forward and keep looking good!" You deserve ALL the good God has for you!!!

Marcie, I read your journal and I think it takes guts to write about your experiences as you grow up. Though you are so young you have made a very big changing decision in your life and I applaud you for that. I think a lot of people have visited your page I think some are just not willing to post or they don’t know they can get a free account and post. I think you are doing great on your weight loss, I had a friend tell me once that she thought that me going through with this surgery that I should loose 100 lbs in 3 months and I looked at her like what planet are you from? I know there are a lot of people who lose weight fast but some lose weight slower. Then again any continuant weight loss for us who have had weight problems for such a long time should feel proud of every pound we get rid off. I have not had my surgery but I will on 10/21/03 which is not that far off. Try writing mini goals and write down goals that you have accomplished so that every time you feel that this might not be going like you thought, your notes will encourage you to think twice. I do hope that you reach all your goals and if I would have known about this surgery at your age BELIVE ME I would have bee trying to get this surgery sooner. Hi Marcie, I trust the surgery went well. I wish you the very best recovery. My thoughts are with you. I would like to keep in contact. My surgeon is Dr. Sooriash as well.
