12-22-04 My surgery date is 1-19-04

1-12-05 Met with the Pulmonary Doctor he ordered a sleep apnea test and a stress test.

1-12-05 When for my sleep apnea test - yes I do have sleep apnea so I will have to go back and spend another night in the sleep lab to calibrate my mask.
1-12-05 Had the stress test done today, I will have to see my cardiologist to possiblily have a stint put in.

1-20-05 Seem Dr Entes my cardiologist I will have an angyogram done on 1-24-05 My surgery was moved back to 1-26-05 unless there they find something wrong on the angyogram.

1-20-05 Finished my sleep apnea testing last night, I should be receiving my c-pal machine today or tomorrow.

1-26-05 I am just out of the hospital from having the angyogram. I had an 80% blockage in the left anterior artery. I had a choice of stents I choose the one that I could still have my surgery in 6 weeks. Had I choosen the other it would have put the surgery off for 6 - 8 months. So I am looking at the week of March 7th.

2-14-05 Happy Valentines Day to one and all. I have an appointment with my surgeon on 2-21-05 to reschedule my surgery. I am hoping to schedule it for 3-16-05

I have an appointment with Dr Boreland today to reschedule my surgery. Hopefully March 16, 2005. I will update more later.

2-21-05 I had my appointment with Dr. Boreland my surgeon we have scheduled my surgery for March 16, 2005 I am so excited. Well the countdown begins.

2-28-05 Well my surgery has been moved up to 3-9-05 I am very excited!!!!

3-1-05 the countdown is started, it is 8 days to my surgery, I am excited but also a little apprehensive... I just keep on going back to obesity.com and reading the bio of the before and after's. I guess I am just like most of you guys, I have a healthy fear of the unknown. I keep on reassuring my wife that everything will not only be fine but much, much, better after the surgery. She has a tendency to worry about me to much.

Thanks so much to Linda M for doing a terrific job on my profile.

3-12-05 I am now 4 days postop I am home from the hospital. I had the tube from hell removed yesterday. Everything going pretty good, still having a little pain from the incision but other than tham am doing well. Will write more later

5-11-05 Sorry I haven't updated lately but I have been back to work since April 11, I am down 65 lbs. and have been on a plateau for the last two weeks. I must say that I have had a wonderful ride with no complications what so ever. I am walking 2 miles a day and getting in about 60 to 80 grams of protein a day and about 80 oz of water. I am on solid food and have been for 3 weeks. I am just a little frustrated waiting on the weight to start comming off again. I am doing everything right so I know that it is just a matter of time before it starts comming off again.

5-20-05 I spoke with my Surgeon Dr Borland last night at the support meeting, I told him that I was on a plateau for about 2 weeks and he asked me how many calories I was taking in per day and I said 8-900. He suggested that I keep it under 800. So I started today. I am writing this on Sunday and have started losing again, I was down 4 lbs since Friday when I started back on protein shakes 3 per day with 40 g protein per shake and 220 cal per shake for a total of 660 calories per day and also taking in about 100 oz of water per day above the water that is in the shakes.

8-18-05 Sorry it has been a while since I have updated. I am now down 118 lbs. I have just this last week dropped below 300 lbs. I haven't been that low in 5 years. Everything is going great, I am going to exercise 3 days a week and walking 2 1/2 miles every morning. I can pretty much eat anything I want but stick mostly to protein shakes for breakfast and lunch, and a salad for Dinner. I still drink about 100 oz of water a day. Life is great.
