I am 25 years old and started at 273 pounds. I had surgery on Sept 17, 1999 at Addison, Mi BTC. My surgeon was Dr. Poplawski. I am 4 weeks post-op and now weigh in at 228.5 lbs. I am very confident that I made the right choice and chose the right surgeon. Surgeon Info:
Dr. Poplawski of BTC, Addison, MI I was very impressed on first meeting him. I am still impressed. He has wonderful office staff and this is all he does so he knows his stuff perfectly. He didnt come see me every day in the hospital but his other surgeons did. He knows what he is doing, I had complications during surgery and he fixed them right up. They have a wonderful aftercare program consisting of on call doctors, nutritionist, blood work etc. I knew the risk going in and he just kinda went over them one more time for me. On a scale of one to ten I would give him a nine. Definately his surgical competence was his best quality. But when looking for a surgeon, who cares if he talks alot as long as he puts you back together right.

They got my paperwork at 3:30 in the afternoon and by 5:00 they were calling me with an approval number. They did not stall at all, they were pleasant to work with and I hope to keep PHP forever. Talk to them, they like communication. They told me that if you go thru the proper channels, like call them first, etc they are much easier to deal with.
