I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Halverson in Salt Lake City,Utah on January 6th. I am very nervous but I know that my life as it is cannot be enjoyed or endured much longer. I want to live my life as a "normal Size person" so that my weight will not be a factor in deciding whether or not to go on a bike ride with my daughter. My 2 children are also overweight and I need to set the example and help them to learn good habits.

I had the surgery and everything went well, I won't kid you it was not fun for awhile. I am 4 weeks post-op and Ive last 47 lbs,and my incision is still draining and not healing very fast

5/8/00 Its been 4 months and I have lost 90 pounds. I am starting to have some energy! I am so happy that I made this decision. Its not easy to live with at times, but its going to be worth it.
7/25/00 I have lost 129 pounds and I am feeling so much better. I am doing physical therapy excercise three times a week and walking on the treadmill on the other days. I am so glad I made the decision to change my life.
12/01/00 I have now lost 183 pounds. In 11 months I have accomplished the goal of being under 300 pounds. I have not been there for so long ,it seems like a dream. I know that I never have to have a three in the 1st digit of my weight ever again!! I am ready to fight the battle to go under 200. I do struggle daily with the "head hunger", but I really know the struggle is worth the success. This decision is the best thing I ever did for myself and my family.
