Hi,
My name is Rulinda F. Purcell. I am a Evangelist. I have been obese for half of my life. I have tried all kinds of diets. I had a stroke in May of 1995. I realize that unless I get rid of this weight, I might not live long. I'm ready for a new life. I'm tired of hating what I see, when I look in the mirror. I only wish I would have decided much sooner. I now weigh 335 Pounds. I plan to have a MGB (mini gastric bypass) by Dr Rutledge in Durham NC. Please feel free to vist my website at http://www.homestead.com/rulinda/rulinda.html
I had my first appointment with Dr. Rutledge. He is a really nice and jolly person. He knows how to make you feel comfortable. I am gathering all of my paperwork to complete my pre-operative assessment. I will be seeing him again on July 31, 1999. I hope to get my surgery date then.
I had my second vist with Dr. Rutledge today July 31,1999. My surgery date is only a few days away. I will be having the Mini Gastric Bypass on Wednesday, August 4, 1999. I am so excited. Please whisper a prayer for me and I'll do likewise for you.
I had a Mini Gastris Bypass on August 4,1999. I had complications and stayed in the hospital for three weeks. I came close to dying, but I'm yet glad I did it. I have lost 55lbs or more. Thank God!
Today is December 09, 2000. It appears that the weight loss has stopped. Though, I'm grateful for losing 75lbs, I'm considering having the MGB redone to lose more weight.

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Robert Rutledge, M.D., F.A.C.S.
I met Dr. Rutledge for the first time on 07-17-99. He is a very kind, gentle, and jolly man. He appears to really care about his patients. His office staff is also very kind and professional. I am looking forward to surgery. I know that I will be in good hands with Dr. Rutledge! He places a lot of emphasis on how to care for yourself post-op. He also makes a point of keeping in touch with all his patients. He makes sure you understand the risks of surgery. I would rate Dr. Rutledge as a 10. He is a wonderful guy!
