I have done all pre-op testing but surgeon I was going with may not be taking medicaid anymore. I don't know what I weigh because I am too heavy for the scales at my primary Dr.'s office. I am 17, miserable, my back and knees always hurt, I was told at the age of 13 that I was borderline diabetic, I have trouble sleeping, breathing, trouble moving around and I am really tired of it. My mother had this surgery done previous to the possible demise of medicaid patients and did very well with this procedure and I learned alot with her going thru this.

2\5\03 I have a surgery date of March 12,2003. I currently weigh 377 pounds. I am scared but am optimistic and look forward to a new life.

3\24\03 I had surgery last week on the 19th. I am doing very well and of course am bored with the choices I have in a liquid diet....just have to keep in mind it is temporary. I know I have already lost 4lbs before even leaving the hospital...but who wouldn't when you can't have anything the first two days..LOL. I'll keep ya posted.

4\2\03 I saw the surgeon on 3/31 and since having surgery I have lost 25.7lbs. No complications...all is well

5\10\03 I recently weighed and have lost 45lbs now. I can't believe how the weight just comes off! I am getting more energy all the time. I'm starting to ride my bike and walking with my mom. I can't wait to see how I will look by the time school starts back up in September!

8/20/03 As of last month I've lost 64 pounds. I've been riding my bike and eating pretty healthy and am amazed at some of the things I can do that I couldn't do before.

8/28/03 I went and weighed in and discovered I am 80 pounds down now. The pic in my profile where I am barefoot shows me minus 80 pounds.
