Hi Val! I just wanted to let you know that I don't see where you have failed at anything. You have had some tough times and maybe you need to have your meds checked out. Maybe it's time to find a new shrink too! While she may have some of the same type of problems you do they will never be exactly the same. Anyways, anyone who has accomplished as much as you have in the last couple of years could never be a failer in my book... it sounds like you need to reach out (which you already have) and also keep reading. Are you getting enough excercise in? That can be one of the biggest set backs for people. Have you looked at "Pouch Rules for Dummies"? Maybe that will help. Just type it in your search and there are several copies out there in WEB land... If you ever need a shoulder I am just an email away. As I'm sure you have seen over time watching this board there are many shoulders... Take care and good luck to you!

~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.~*~Hugs~*~

Hang in there, Val! You have done so amazing so far, you can keep it up! Depression is a natural part of this process, whether you have clinical depression or the grieving depression from lifestyle changes. Realize that you are not alone, that you are not strange or weird or different, but are going through all of normal things. Try something to shake you up, like jumping on the protein train with all of those post-ops. Best wishes to you. God Bless. R

Dear Val, I hope you can get back on track and make all your goals and dreams come true. I am almost 20 months out and have lost 214 pounds from my top documented weight. Each day and each meal is a choice and I do try to plan ahead which can keep us out of trouble. I still go to a counselor at the mental health center to keep my head on straight. May you be blessed with ultimate success and renewed health and life. Hugs Janice 353/139

Hi Val! So you've come out of lurk mode, eh? Nice to see you post. Things just automatically slow down after a while and it becomes dang hard work to even lose ONE POUND...that's what I've found anyway. I've only lost THREE POUNDS in the past 5 months! I have about 9 more to go to just get under that 25 BMI (which, per the charts says I'm still "overweight")...that's all I ask, to be 24.9 and be considered "normal"...LOL. But yes, it's an uphill battle even when you're doing all the right things...once you're a long-term postie. Sorry I have no magic solutions, as I'm struggling myself. The only thing that has ever worked for me is cutting out all carbs and sugars...but I know you already know that. Keep posting and letting us know how you're doing...there are many people here in the same boat. Hugs, Joy
