Dear Amanda.......could your friend Kathie Joyce have Roux Stasis Syndrome? I read up on it 2 weeks ago when I was throwing up a lot. It's where your stomach muscles doesn't work the food down into the stoma but the food just sits til you throw it up. This might be something to ask about. Best wishes to you.

I got to talk to Amanda this morning. She is in a lot of pain and hasn't been able to get much sleep so she's pretty drained. Her mom is with her and other woman in the hospital room had the same surgery on the same day, so she seems to have some support there. She is preparing for her first attempt at getting up out of bed and moving around and her leak test is scheduled for tomorrow. As yucky as she feels right now, her spirits are still high and she knows she has so much to look forward to.

I haven't been able to talk to Amanda today after her surgery - first it was busy, busy, busy and then it just rang and rang and rang. She is probably exhausted. I did manage to get in touch with her roommate, though, and he said she seems to be doing fine but the pain is more than she was prepared for. I hope to talk to her tomorrow and I'll let everyone know as soon as I have anymore information. Thanks for all of your support and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. =)
