Todays Date 6/16/02 Surgery date: July 11, 2002, Currenty 235lbs, I guess you can say I am considered a "light weight" whatever that means. I have struggled with my weight problem all my life. I have tried every single imaginable diet, from Atkins, Weight Watchers, Metrx, Phen-Phen, and I must say they all work, but as soon as you get off of them you gain everything and then some. My turning point had to be when my father had a heart attack at 40. I now being 30 realized that I only had 10 more years if I kept going the way I was. My father, mother grandfather, grandmother all have Diabetes and Heart Disease. I am less than a month away and I am excited and worried at the same time. I will post more at a later.
7-24-02 I cant believe it but it has been 2 weeks, I had my first post op visit. My Dr. said I was doing great that I should keep on eating soft foods and liquids. He did say however that I could start eating soft eggs. I tried it today and I felt so bad. I felt that it was stuck and would not go down. I felt this way for about 5 minutes and then threw up. First bad experience, it might have been the egg, or maybe I ate to much of a big piece, or I ate it too fast. Well at least that will teach me to slow down. I will try the egg next week. I now weigh 221 meaning I have lost 17 lbs. Not bad for 2 weeks. I have alot of energy and am feeling great. My next appointment is in 2 weeks. He will start me on solid food then.
8-6-02 I have not updated because I have been very upset that they lost my previous detailed posting regarding the surgery. Well I am still on mushy food and I now weigh 215. I will post later like I said I cant get over the fact that they have lost my previous updates.
1-23-03 I am doing great, still feel this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I now weigh 170lbs. Will post a after picture soon.

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Anthony M. Gonzalez, MD
He is the best surgeon I have ever met. He is very empathetic to you and knows what he is doing. His staff is horrible, but he is the only reason for putting up with it. I have referred everyone to him including my sister.
