Recently had surgery 8 weeks ago, mother of 2, enjoy scrapbooking, exercise doesn't excite meyet! looking to broaden my diet from string cheese and chicken. Cant believe i posted this picture. Myhusband and I were on vacation in canda. I was about 300 pounds here. I cant wait to take a picture that I will like how I look.

8-12-04 I had my 2 month check up today and was down 62 pounds. I cant remember being this weight in the past 10 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its amazing. stillhave so far to go but am enjoying the loss

8-21-04 I went back to work today. It felt good to wear my new smaller scrubs. I couldnt believe my back wasnt killing me while at work. I always used torest, how great to be free from that. I am down 69 pounds.

Today is 11/12/04. I am at 205 pounds that is a loss of 97 pounds in 5 months. I am so much happier with how i look. I am still getting used to the newer me. I actuallyhad a picture taken the other day that i thought i looked halfway decent. I just went to see dr. Lautz yesterday and he was happy with my progress, said I looked like a whole new person. Actually alot of people are saying that to me. I am still enjoying the pain free days of no aching back. I am going to the gym 3-5 times a week and dragging my sis and friend there when I can. I just bought some size 18 jeans and cant believe they fit me. I dont triple fold my underwear anymore either. That is an accomplishment to wear the smaller ones that dont look like granny undies. I am enjoying shopping for some new bargains quite often., I should stop because alot of the clothes I am not geting much use out of them due to going thru them . I have hit some plateaus recently and get frustrated with the darn scale but try to stay focused on other things . I can eat anything, I am trying to eat slower. I do cave snack here and then but try to distract myself with water/. Not easy but it works sometimes. I was hoping for a mini goal of 100 pound loss by turkey day. We shall see ?!

Today is January 21, 2005. Wo what a new year its gonna be. I found out on Dec. 16th that I was pregnant. Me- who would believe it. How did this happen to me? I am shocked. I have been extremely tired and nauseous this past month. I saw the ob doctor and had an ultrasound which confirmed there is a baby growing in my belly. I am now down 114 pounds since surgery. I made my turkey day goal 1 week late but It was great to make the century club. Nowadays I am trying to catch some naps here and there due to being sooooo tired . In the meantime I am chasing my 20 month old daughter around. I am able to eat anything that I have tried. The only thing that hasn't agreed with me is chicken strips from McDononalds and Orange juice. Mostly I am having an egg with toast in the a.m. and a grilled cheese with tomato or tuna for lunch, and chicken and veg or a lean cuisine meal for dinner. Some favorite snacks are wheat thins with hummus, peanut butter or cheese. I like nuts and watermelon.

Well i just celebrated my one year anniversary. I havent typed in so long. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant and cant believe it still. I have been doing great through the pregnancy only gaining 5 pounds so far. I still feel great but am frustrated with this in between sizes due to the belly thing. I am doing great with eating. I am enjoiying watermelon and grilled chicken on salads. still like cheese and crackersand have been on a ceral kick lately. I was shocked the other day when i found my self sitting with shorts on and actually not trying to pull my shorts down over my knees to hide the fat like i have done for years. i am currently at a loss of 100 pounds at 1 year post op and 7 months pregnant. unbelievable. I still think its neat to see my wrists and neck sometimes because ethey have been hiding on me for years. trying on regular clothes and shoes in regular stores is still a new thing for me. enjoying post op life and doing good i 'll write more later.

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: David Lautz, M.D.
He was very professional, kinda laid back, but patient with all my questions. My impression only got better over time. The office staff was considerate and attentive. He is very good. Aftercare is very important and he encourages follow up with all his staff and associates from nutition etc. Not really a structured aftercare program but definitely available for contact by phone. he went into great depth with the risks. rating overall is superb. His surgical competence seems super and his bedside manner is gentle and concerning so I would say both. The only thing negative is at the doctors appointments he always tends to be running late late late. but I found out that htat is probbaly because he is spending the time in the office talking and going over things like he did with me and not rushing to get out of the room.
