I have a two year old daughter and a husband who I am looking forward to spending more energetic time with. My main reason for wanting to lose weight is to live to see my child grow up. I feel like I am too young to worry about such things. I am tired of food ruling my life and I have finally found a tool that can help me change my life! I am so excited! I used to ride hunter/jumpers competitively and I really miss it. I have gotten too heavy to do it and when I am able I am planning on doing it once again. I won't compete but I will be able to ride a horse again! I am a little nervous about the surgery part as is everybody and am praying everything will turn out ok. I just keep thinking about how much better my life will be when it's all said and done.

Surgeon: Kermie L. Robinson, M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Robinson was that he was quietly friendly and helpful. (And very smart!) I was very comfortable asking him all of my questions and he encouraged them. He answered everything my husband and I asked candidly and honestly. Rose, the insurance person popped in to let me know what I needed to do next and really put me at ease. Elaine, his nurse who has actually had bariatric surgery was very friendly and helpful. She was very good at making this big girl feel comfortable with getting on the scale and calculating my BMI. It was very obvious that they really care and treat ALL of their patients with dignity and integrity. I was very impressed and am looking forward to hopefully getting my surgery scheduled real soon.

They pretty much approved it almost immediately. It took about 24 hours. Be persistent and call a lot. If you don't like the answer you get, hang up and call back. Be sure to write down who you spoke to, the date and time, and what was discussed. It will be important in the appeals process if that becomes necessary.
