My name is Sherrie and I have been overweigt all my life...A year ago a friend of mine had this surgery and I told there had to be some other way to lose the weight...I supported her in her decision but said I would never do this...Well here I am...I am finally to the point I am tired of losing the weight loss battle...I was an uninformed critic...After seeing her do so well this last year and doing all of my own research I have decided it is the right time was me to start my journey...

I have been approved...It only took my insurance company 5 days. Just waiting on date....

I have a date...My surgery will be 9/10/03 and I will be the first one of the day...I am so excited...Susan said they could have done it as early as 8/21/03 but my dad is in the hospital right now and we are not sure how long he is going to be there...Please just pray for him to get better soon....I don't feel like I can have this surgery until he is well on his way to recovery...BTW Dr Freeman's office is so wonderful...Even the girl that answered the phone was excited for me...I just love this office...

***8/22/03 Well I have some bad news...I am having to postpone my surgery...My husband fell last week and broke his heel bones and is going to be out of work (with no pay) for 6 weeks and my dad is still in the hospital on a ventilator...I just don't feel this is the right time to take such a major step...However I have rescheduled for 10/22/03...Two months from today!!! Dr Freeman's office has been very supportive...Susan was very nice and helpful with changing my dates... Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers...Thanks for all the support I have received so far!!! Good Luck to everyone who is starting on their journey!!!

Just wanted to update...My Dad passed away on 8/24/03...A blood clot got in his airway and they could not get it to move...
Please continue to pray for our family...My only wish is that Daddy could have seen me skinny...I know he can see from heaven but I would have really liked for him to be here...

I can't believe it...3 weeks from today and I will be on the losing side...I am so excited...I have such a peace about this surgery...My Mom is even getting somewhat excited...She is just really worried if am going to be happy with not being able to eat...The support groups at Dr Freeman's are really helping her with that...Anyway just wanted to say hi and good luck to everyone out there...

Less than a week away...I can't belive I am almost there...I had my pre-op consult and testing done yesterday and everything went fine. I still love this office...I finally got to meet Tim and Joyce...Everyone at this office is just wonderful. Dr Freeman was the same as always...He prayed with us when he came in and then went over everything that was going to happen or that could happen...I am so ready for this surgey...Everyone ask me if I am nervous and I'm not...Of course I know something could happen but I am just not scared of this...

Sorry it has been so long since I updated but my internet has been down at home and I haven't worked much these last 2 weeks....My surgery was on 10/22 and everything went great. Dr Freeman said I was only in for about 35 mins...Hospital stay was fine I was released on Friday and glad to get home to see my son....Let me just tell you getting the drains out is some more experience...There is no way to discribe what it feels like but I can promise you it doesn't feel good...But boy will you feel better about 5 mins after they are through...I had lost 25 pounds when I went at my 1 week check up...I was so excited...I have not really had any problems other than I think I maybe eating a little too fast...Hopefully I will see everyone at support group next week, that is also the day of my 1 month check up

Went yesterday for my 1 month check up, I have lost a total of 44 pounds since surgery...I am so excited...I didn't get to see Dr Freeman but I did see Tim and he says everything is looking good...He told me my getting sick was probably due to me still learning how to eat...Hope all is going well with everyone else...Please email me if I can do anything for you or answer any questions...

I went to the dr on Tuesday because I have been having some problems with getting sick...Dr Freeman doesn't seem to think I have a stricture just still eating too fast or too big a bite...I did really good yesterday and wasn't sick at all...Now for the even better news I have lost 60 pounds since my surgery on 10/22/03...I am really happy...Thanks for all the support and prayers I have received...I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!!!

I did not realize it had been so long since I updated...Here goes...I am doing great, I still get sick some but not as much as before...This learning how to eat again is tough...I have lost 95 pounds in a little less than 4 months...I have joined Curves and I really enjoy that...Hope everyone is doing good!!! Please let me know if you have any questions...I also want to encourage everyone to come and attend support group...We meet every third tuesday at the tyler center in anniston...It is very informative and our leader, Rebecca Belamy, is wonderful...We just had a meeting last night so the next one will be on March 16 at 6:00...I live in the Bham area and the drive is worth it...

Just wanted to update since I am now officially a member of the century club...I am down 106 lbs in a little less than 5 months...I still have a long way to go but I will get there...I am not getting sick quite as often and that is wonderful...Good Luck to everyone who is starting this journey...Please email me if you have any question I might could answer...God Bless...Sherrie

Just a quick update...My six month mark was yesterday and I am down 119.5 pounds...I feel wonderful. I have lots of energy and I don't get sick as often as I did at first...I am beginning to look for a plastic surgeon to get that ball rolling...Please email me if you have any questions about Dr Freeman or about my experience with surgery...I believe it's the best thing I could have done for myself...God Bless and Good Luck...

I am now 8 month out and down 135 pounds...I am still feeling wondering and I have been approved for my tummy tuck but I am going to wait until the 1st of the year to have it done...I have about 50 more pounds that I would like to lose before then...Hope everyone is doing well....

It has been a really long time since I have updated this...Sorry!!! I have had my plastic surgery...I used Dr Shelby Eich at Medical Center East in Bham...Him and his staff are wonderful...I would recommend him to everyone..I am now down to just being overweight and not obese...I am so very thankful!!! Hope everyone is doing great...
