Surgeon: Brian S. Boe, M.D.
The doctor I had my consultation with and the one who will do my surgery is Dr. Brian Boe at the Belvediere, ILL. location of Bariatric Treatment Center. He was very helpful in answering all my questions (and I had a lot of them). He did his residency in bariatric surgery and that is his specialty. Like anything else, when you want the best you go to a specialist.

Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield
I had no problems at all. BC/BS of Iowa was very easy to work with. We have a liason that we are able to work through and she was more than helpful. The only procedure they would not approve and that was a turbinate procedure. (My husband has sleep apnea...even though he only weighs 175....and his doctor had submitted a pre-approval for him at the same time). We think that someone got confused in the approval process for both of us and something got turned around. Good think he is not having the stomach by-pass surgery! LOL!!!
