I'd like to let military personnel and their spouses know that at this time tri-care does cover this procedure. My surgery date has been set for 12 Oct. 99, I can't wait. I just saw my friend that had her surgery 6 months ago and she has already lost over a hundred pounds. I'll take pictures before I go in and will update, later.
Well, I had my surgery just over a week ago and am feeling fantastic. I guess I have a high pain threshold, because the main was minimal. I have lost 16 lbs in my first week.
I am 10 months post op, I have gone from 356 lbs to 212 lbs and feel wonderful. I have my life back. I am no longer asthmatic, take no medication and I can even run and swim. My weight has started to stabalize lately, I have only lost 6 lbs in 6 weeks, but we moved and I have not been exercising much, so hopefully when I get back into it I can loose more, I want to loose at least 33 lbs more, I don't want to be twiggy, just healthy. I am planning on having a tummy tuck in Jan. because it bothers me to run with the excess skin. Thats all for now. Laurel
Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Eugene W. Rumsey M.D.
Dr. Rumsey seems like a very nice doctor and I have heard he has the fewest amount of patients with complications. The staff is very friendly and many of them used to be overweight and had the surgery. I'll let you know more after my surgery.
My Sergeon was absolutely fantastic, I really like him a lot and would recommend him to any one. Pacific Bariatric is the clinic I went through, out of San Diego.
