I'm 24 years old. My husband, Bryan, and my son, Steve, are the light of my life. My weight is a big problem to me. After having surgery to remove cyst, I gained almost 60 pounds in a month. When I got pregnat i went from 170 to 237 and I havent' been able to lose any of it. I want to have another child, but from the problems I had during my last pregnacy, diabetes, toximia, hbp, edima, 3 month hospital stay, I knew that I would have to lose weight before I evern thought about getting pregnant again. Soo here I am.

Well the day is growing closer. As it grow closer the more nervous I am. At first I was more afriad about not recovering from the surgery, but I've been coming to this site everyday and reading the stories of all the people and this has helped alot. Now I'm more excited and wish that the day would hurry up. Well 21 more days is a pretty good was away so I'll just have to do something to get it off of my mind LOL.

Had my pre-op test done yesterday. Man that was some nasty stuff to drink. Made my stomach hurt for the rest of the day. They drew blood and actually hit a vein on the first try, now that was an acomplishment. LOL. And they took exays of my chest, I thouht that their should have been more test done, but I guess not. Now all that I like is the surgery only 4 more days, man i'm excited and a little nervous. But I can't wait. I've opted for the epidural for pain. They say you can get up faster after surgery with that. I was really shocked that they didn't test how fast my blood clots. I've had a few clots in my arms before, but the didn't test for it. I don't know, maybe i'm just a little nervous, but most of the people who die usually die from a clot in some way. They said for me not to use proten drinks after the surgery, but to use protein bars. Well things need to be done and they ain't being done with me on this computer. later tators

Well tomarrow is the big day. Man I sure hope that everything goes alright. We've been working on my house for the last few day, we almost have it completed. It sure looks a lot better than it did before it burned down 2 years ago. I just can't belive its been that long. My sons sure is excited about moving his bed into his new room. Thats all ive heard in the last few day. Well I'm getting ready for tomarrow. Just a little nervous. But I'm pretty confident with my doctor, and that's what counts. As long as its done right and that I come out okay. I don't think i could forgive myself for leaving my son motherless this early in life.

"Well about time I got back on here. I'm doing just great. Eating alright, i've learned how much i can and can't eat so i'm doing pretty good. I started out at 252 and I am now down to 234. My wedding ring falls off now so i guess i'm losing inches. I don't have a scale in my house so I don't get on one everyday so I don't really keep good tabs on it (don't want to get obsesed). I'm having teribble pain in my left leg, i guess i'm gonna have to go to the doc about it, and I can't wear my contacts anymore, they just don't fit. But life is good otherwise.

I'm doing great so far. I haven't got sick once yet. I've went form 252 at time of surgery to 226 as of yesterday. I've lost 3 1/2 inches in my waist and 2 1/2 in my hips.
01/31/03
Doing great here. I'm down to 218. I've lost 6 inches in my waist so i'm doing pretty good. I can eat whatever i want only in smaller amounts. I haven't got sick yet so i'm doing pretty good.

Well it's been a while, but i'm still kicking. I'm trying to build a house and that takes all of my time. I'm doing good I think I'm down to 207 from 253. And my waist is now 36 from a 43. So far I've never gotten sick, I can eat anything I want and drink anything I want (was hooked on dr peppers before surgery, haven't had any kind of coke since and dont even want one) sugars don't bother me. I can eat a herseys kiss and it doesn't bother me at all. I can't stand chocolate it's nasty so I don't have to worry about eating too much of that. I've tried drinking protein drinks and let me tell you. That was a bad idea the one and only time I thought I was going to be sick was when i drank a protein drink. I haven't tried since. I just eat a lot of meats for my protein. Was kinda worried about my weight loss, but once you look at it I guess 46 pounds in 8 weeks is good. I was a light weight so i will not lose as fast as some people. Oh well got to get to work, that house wont build itself.

Doing good here down to 205. Having a little problem with my head itching a lot but other than that i'm good.

Howdy again. I'm just here to update a little. I'm down to 200 lbs, 34 inches in the waist and 46 inches in the hips. Got sick for the first time on a bowl of cereal. YUCK!
Oh well.
Everything is going great. I love it. I could stop loosing right now and still be happy. I just can't imagine being any thinner, but i'm steadily getting there.

Well my b-day is in 5 days and boy am i happy. I haven't been this happy for a long time. I've lost a total of 100lbs. I can't beleive it. I'm down to 153 and i'm feeling fine. I went to a place called the Electric Cowboy the other night and I don't know how many men asked me to dance. I'm very happy with the results of my surgery. I'm down to a size 10 pants from a 24. I need a little tummy tuck here and a breast lift there but other than that i'm loving it.

WoW!!! Didn't know it had been so long. Well everything is going great. I found out is was pregnant and now i'm 17 weeks along. Everything is going great other than a hernia along my insesion line. I'm weighing about 163-165 right now so I haven't gained very much yet. I definately can't fit my size 8s any more (ccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy), but other than that i'm ok. I go out more often and actually have fun. Me and my husband could never be better. We are so happy to have had this surgery to help us out.
10/26/2004
Well i've only 7 more weeks. YAY I'm doing good tho. Baby growing fine and on target, I weigh 185 right now, which is pretty good. Other than haveing a basketball for a stomach i'm doing good.

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Mark R. Gibbs
Dr. Gibbs was a pretty nice man. He seemed very confindent in his ablitiy to do this surgery. This was the first time, i've meet him. The office staff was amazing, i've called a few times with questions and always got the answers. I can't think of anything i didn't like about dr gibbs. Dr. Gibbs is good surgeon. Aftercare was a big part of the converstion we had. Yes, there was a structed aftercare program. Dr. Gibbs was very truthfull about the risks and benifit of the surgery. I don't have anything to rate him against, but he was a wonderful doctor.

I couldn't be happier with this company, not only were they fast on the approval, but answered all my questions that I had conserning the surgery. They also cover it 100% which is a blessing to me as well.
