My surgery was March 19,2002. It is now November 21, 2003. I now weigh 156. I started out at 278 pounds. I am only 5'2. I talked to a girl that I went to school with. She said that she was going to go look me up in our high school year book. I told her that I was the one everybody made fun of because I was the fat girl. She said "Was I one of the ones that made fun of you"? What about that. Why does everyone have to make fun of people that do not fit in. She did say Well you have nothing to worry about now.
I went to a plastic surgeon in Greenville by the name of Dr. McFadden. He is going to fix a hernia that I have plus cut some of the excess skin off. He is a very nice doctor. While I was waiting to see him one of his other patients started telling me how good he is. I was so glad to hear that. Her husband was also a patient of his. His office is Greenville Plastic Surgery. His office staff have taken care of everything. They have been working with my insurance company. I don't have to worry about anything. I am now waiting on a surgery date. As soon as they get a date they will let me know. Later on I want him to fix my legs and arms. The insurance won't cover that so I will have to pay. Dr. McFadden is about 12 years old. I really checked him out before I went to him. He has a web site with pictures for anyone to look at. It also has his degrees. He has been doing that for years. I recomend him to anyone. It is as least worth a try going to see him.
I had surgery to repair my hernia. It was on 12-30-03. Right before surgery Dr. Mc Fadden marked off where the hernia was located and found another one. I had two of those things. That figures. It is now 1-6-04. Yesterday I had to have the drain tubes taken out. I did not like that. I am such a whimp. I let everything scare me. When I got home and looked in the mirror I did not know whose belly I was looking at. I wanted to cry. It was perfect. I have a cute belly button now also.
I am sore from the work but I would do it over again. My belly is flat. The best part is there is some swelling. It will go down even more in about 6 weeks. I only had one problem. One of my drain tubes had a leak. I called the doctors number for his office because it was after hours and instead of getting an answering service Dr. Mc Fadden answered the phone. I asked him why he was at the office and he said after the office closes the office number is turned over to his house. He does not use an answering service. The leak was no big deal. It was wonderful not having to wait on him to have to call back. I have never been to a doctor that has that type of service. I plan of saving the money to get my arms and legs done. I also now weigh 152 pounds. That is someting going from 278 to 152.
I am so happy about my tummy tuck. I am very sore. That was an experience in itself. The worst part was the stiches. I am such a baby and I did not like that. I do not have to go back to see Dr. Mc Fadden until Feb. 12th for a checkup. My girdle type bandage will be coming off on my birthday. I have less that 3 weeks for that. All I can say is Happy Birthday to me.
Just a quick update. I weighed 151 this morning. 18 more pounds to go until i make it to my goal. Today is Jan. 31. I weigh 150 pounds now. I am still excited about getting out of my tummy tuck girdle. I have 10 more days to go.
Today is Feb 10th. I do not have to wear my girdle anymore. I weighed 148 this morning. Goody goody for me. The past two weeks I have been getting sick. I guess I either ate too fast or the grease was too much. I will have to watch that. I saw that I am supposed to weigh 126 lbs. I don't get it. The industry needs to come up with a new weight scale. That is 22 more pounds. I think that is too much. I am still looking at 135. That should be enough. More than enough. Well I must be off.
Well it is now June 30. I weigh 147. I am still overweight. It is because I am 5'2. How crazy is that. I am ok with how much I weigh. I will take it.

Surgeon: Blair M. Rowitz, M.D.
I met Dr. Rowitz on Jan. 23. He does not sugar coat the surgery. He tells you everything you need to know. Make sure if you have any questions to write them down and take them with you. I did not do that. He told me to e-mail him with any questions that I can think of. His office staff will help with the insurance and will even do the first appeal. I would recommend him to anyone. He does not believe in smokeing. I am going to have to quit for the surgery. It will be worth it in the long run.
Insurer Info:
Cigna HealthCare, Cigna
I am lucky that Cigna approved at 100%. I am having problems now with the bills. Everytime the doctor sends one in I end up having to call them and tell them that I have the letter that says they are going to cover. Each bill has had to be refiled.
