Had surgewry on monday Dec 13th, feeling great, started out at 211 pounds. Down to 189 now. Am retired from law enforcement, husband is retired fire department. I love to read true crime stories and collect antiques and just general junk. Love to gamble and visit $1.00 stores

I cant believe it !!!! I am finally into that SIZE 10 !!! And the thing is I told no one about my surgery, only my hubby and sister-in-law knew I had it done. SURPRISE SURPRISE !!! to my brothers and sister, whom I have not seen since July 2004, when I was 215 pounds !!! And on the 26th of this month we are all meeting at a campground in San Diego, Calif with our RV's... Now won't they be surprised when they see the LITTLE ME !! I just can't wait to get to that campground and see the looks on their faces !!!

Only problems I have had with regard to my surgery, is hair loss, and gobbs of it.. Also recently had extremely low blood pressure, and tests revealed under-active thyroid problems, which I now take medications for. But guess what ??? This medication also causes hair loss !!! Just my luck !!! But I have a ton of hair so am not concerned about it. Still have problems trying to eat little bites and eat slowly, but I am working on that. Have had 4 fills and experienced no problems at all.

This surgery has exceeded my expectations and I am about the happiest chick in the world. I would do it all over again if I had too, as the results are amazing. I am buying my clothes in the thrift stores now because I dont know what size I am going to end up being. I was sooooooooooo happy when I went to Walmart to get a pair of white jeans and had to buy a size 14, but I only got to wear them twice before they became too big, so now I get the cheap stuff the thrift stores offer. Got about 10 pairs of shorts @ 50 cents each, plus blue jeans for $2.00 a pair !!! I love it !!! Also have gone from a 38D bra to a 36C. I almost fainted in the bath tub, when I SAW HAIRS down there..... that I hadnt seen in years... Didnt know I still had them !!!

Its a pleasure to wake up each morning and take the world on each day.. I am also getting back into my old hobbies of collecting antiques and restoring antique furniture.

Life is great !!! And I will forever and ever be greatful for having found Dr Kuri and the Lap Band surgery. It was and always be the best decision I ever made in my life, having it done that is.....

Will be sending in an up-dated picture sometime today showing the before me in Dec 2004, to the now me June 2005.

Was having some thyroid problems, under-active, was put on meds for this. Took meds for 2 months, didnt really feel any difference with the meds. Was throwing up for a week, placed in hosp for being dehydrated, pumped full of fluids. After 2 days could hold water down. The 3 Dr's attending me knew nothing of the Lap Band procedure, but felt either I had some sort of BUG, or that the Lap Band was at fault. Had an electrolite inbalance also, given potassium for that. Given acid reflux meds and sent home. 2 days later went to see Wendy, who does my fills, she took out 1cc and I have been fine ever since. These US doctors need to learn about this procedure since so many of us are getting it done. WHY ???? Its great !! Its magic !!! And IT WORKS !!! Am 10 pounds from goal, and into a size 8. This surgery I had was a dream for me and I thank God every day for having it done, because in the last 25 years of my different diets and all that goes with that, IT was the only thing that worked with little effort on my part, and it will always be there for me, to help me along in this fight against extra unwanted pounds. I miss nothing of the old me, nor do I miss eating the way I used to. Hunger pains and thinking of food are a thing of the past for me, thank you Lord ! and Dr. Kuri !!
