I have been interested in bariatric surgery for two years, but was told I had to be with Kaiser Permanente for 1 year before I would be considered. I also had a baby boy between then and now. Anyway, to make a long story short, I am back to trying to get the ball rolling again. I have an appt to see my PCP Dr Carter Chang in Hayward on the 26th, so wish me luck. Hopefully he will start the approval process for me. If any of you know how I can jump hoops faster, or know any short cuts, please let me know. Thanks, and ill keep you posted!

Hi everyone! If anyone is looking for an EXCELENT PCP in the bay area, and has Kaiser Permanente, please check out Dr Carter Chang, he is WONDERFUL!! Kaiser makes you jump through a lot of hoops, but this guy is so on the ball and knows the process. when I went to see him, he immediatly sent me for weight bearing x-rays, lab work, and a sleep test to build my case for approval by the board. I go in today for the sleep test, next week for my phsyc evaluation, and then he will submit me to the board for approval!! Wish me luck!
