I have been overweight since I was a young adult, I have tried like everyone on here several diets from weight watchers, atkins, cabbage soup, south beach etc..and I can lose, but its the regaining and then some thats the problem. I am lucky as I dont have any co-morbitities--I just am a thin woman trapped in a fat woman's body. I am very excited and scared to begin my journey, but I know in my heart that this is what I need. Thanks to my family for loving me enough to understand and be supportive-I Love you!

5/8/05 Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's. Down about 114lbs now, it's been more than 20 years since I have been less than 200lbs. Feel GREAT!! Thanks to my family Dad, Mom, Bob, Nicole, Melanie, and my Big Sis Sabine for standing behind me and all the encouragement!

Just being very active this summer went to California on Vacation and camping etc...Feel great and have about 14 lbs to go to goal! YEAH!!

Oh how I suck at journal-ing. I have really been bad all around, haven't been to support group in forever! Things are definetly slooooooow on the losing now, still 12 lbs from goal. Haven't been great about exercising so you reap what you sow~with that in mind I did the treadmill today. I actually finished the program..yahoo first time ever! Tomorrow off to Elitches, and I am so looking forward to it. It will be the first time in YEARS I can actually fit and ride rides! Well I will be at the next Aurora Support Group, so I look forward to seeing everyone again! Hope your all having a great summer!!

Well here I am again, still sucking at journal-ing. I am now officially at goal! Whohoo! I am really glad that I had the surgery, and no its not the easy or fast way out. It is definetly a tool which allows you to be on the same playing field as all the "normal weight" people and then viola you have to exercise, eat right etc...JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!... Even though I was self pay it was oh so worth it~NO Regrets! Happy Holidays, I hope to post more recent pictures soon!

9/10/06 Wow! again, so much time passes without journaling. So much has happened this year...Nicole got married, Melanie is due any day now, Health issues with my Parents...and life just keeps on keeping on. I haven't been the best with a lot of things...food, vitamins, exercise, SMOKING! but I am changing that right now~I am on day six of not smoking and I am DONE DONE DONE! I am making a commitment to the gym with a personal trainer and my friend Vickie, and I am going to go back to "Pouch rules for dummies". I am also going to have to find a support group to ensure I can get the support I havent been. My friends and family have been great, but I think it helps when people really "know" where your coming from. I am still staying 167-172lbs which is cool but have a major fear of weight coming back~especially if I am not doing what I should be!!!
Well that's about it for now. I will try to make a better effort in logging in here more frequently!

    Surgeon Info:
    Surgeon: Michael A. Snyder
Dr. Snyder is very passionate about WLS and it shows everytime you see him. He is very informative and requires patients to go to a mandatory seminar he offers monthly. He is very caring, but doesn't sugar coat anything. He has an awesome bedside manner, and a great sense of humor! Aftercare is super important to him, as that's when the work for you begins... and he wants each one of his patients to succeed! I would recommend anyone who is interested in WLS to attend one of his seminars, it definetly gives all the information you need in order to make an informed descision. I think he is the BEST Dr. for this proceedure, I give him 2 thumbs up!!
