I AM OVERWEIGHT SINCE HIGH SCHOOL. I HAVE JUST RECENTLY HEARD ABOUT THIS SURGERY AND AM VERY INTERESTED.
6-6-01 I was finally approved after 4 months of appeals and research. I did have my surgery on 1-17-01. It is now almost 5 months post-op and I have lost about 69 lbs. It definately is a life changing experience and I would do it over again a 100 times. My husband also had the surgery in Nov. of 99 and has lost about 170 lbs, he was 400 lbs before. I was 260 and now weigh about 191, and have went down about 8 sizes. I feel great and have more energy then ever. My husband and I have the same insurance company Trustmark (PHCS) and he was approved in 2 weeks based alone on his weight. I am the 4th person in 2 Years in our family to have this surgery. My mother in law, my aunt, my husband and now myself. I keep you updated.
