I got the approval from my insurance company--great right--no. The hospital is now giving me and everyone else who wants this surgury a problem. This is Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown NJ. They are denying medically indicated care to patients based on their ability to pay. This is wrong. They shut down the obesity surgery for about 2 weeks, because they say that they aren't getting enough money back from the insurance carriers. Now they say that they will take 2 patients a week only, but there is a long-long waiting list which mean some will have to wait maybe 6 mos. to a yr.

This is ridiculous.

Am now 1 week post-op. Feeling great. I am running errands and getting used to the eating plan. I have not vomited and am proud of it. LOL.
I am down 9 pounds and see the doctor on 7/27 to have the staples removed. Good luck everyone.:)
I am now going into my 6th week post-op and am down 34.5 lbs. I feel great. My clothes are starting to hang. Still having problems with gas, but the beeno i bought seems to be helping. Good luck to all.
As of today i am now 9 weeks PO and down 48 lbs. Not bad. My clothes are really hanging off of me, but i still can't get into some of the clothes i bought in anticipation. Oh well, maybe another 20 lbs. :)
Very nice guy. Great sense of humor. Made me feel very comfortable. He knew my MD well and spoke with him on the phone.
His staff is very nice. Mary Meola is the RN in charge of everything. She is great.
Must follow aftercare religiously. This is stressed.
Magna Care, PPO
No problem--my MD zerox my pertinent records and attached a letter of necessity. I picked it up and federal expressed it to them. Got the approval in 2 weeks.
