![]() | 08/04 10:15 AM Just wanted to let everyone know that my recovery is going perfectly. I couldn't ask for any more. I'm not in much pain right now. A little sore after sleeping and first beginning to move in the morning. That goes away quickly. I have lost most of the weight I gained from the I.V.'s in the hospital and a little more. According to my scales I'm down about 5 pounds from when I went into the hospital. I know I still have some fluid from the I.V.'s to loose because my feet and legs are still a little swelled. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. They meant so much to me. I have to thank the WISH Center. My experience with this surgery was fantastic. I was in some pain in the recovery room until they got it under control but after that it really wasn't as bad as I expected. The Hospital Staff was out of this world. I had a lot of experience with Hospitals due to my moms several years battling cancer and my dad's 2 strokes. I have never had an experience like the one at Provena Mercy. I can't say enough about them. They were then when I needed them. The Hospital was very clean. They were pretty open to my family being there whenever I wanted. I could go on and on about the Hospital and staff. I appreciate each and every one of them so much. The WISH Center has also helped the Hospital with a family activity area on that floor. It has a networked PC for patients as well as very wide and comfortable chairs throughout the nice large room. We spent some significant time there as a family. It was very nice. Well I'll try to update more after my 2 week follow up on the 11th. Thanks again for everyones thoughts during my surgery. It helped knowing everyone was out there thinking of me. — Dwayne D. |

![]() | 07/29 08:22 AM ~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. — Naes Wls J. |

![]() | 07/28 04:22 PM This update is from the computer in the activity room at the Hospital. I had my surgery on Saturday July 26th and all went very smoothly. I could have gone home today. Because of the length of ride I had home the Doctor gave me the option of staying tonight and leaving in the morning, so I chose to do so. I appreciate everyone's prayers and well wishes. They meant a lot to me. Things couldn't have gone much better so far and the Hospital is beyond wonderful. I had the surgery at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora Illinois since that's where the WISH center does all of their Illinois surgeries. I just can't say enough about Provena. I'll write more later. — Dwayne D. |
