Hi Jill,
I'd say don't be nervous but, heck, I was! Of course it was for nothing (except I burned a few extra calories) because my surgery went fine. The surgery itself is way down there in my book of the hardest things I've ever done but waiting for my surgery day is way up there at the top. In fact, the week before surgery was much harder than the week after. For me anyway. After surgery I had soreness more than pain. My back hurt more than my incision (go figure). Remember to keep it positive. That means only positive people around you. The negative people are ill-informed and will just sap you of your confidence. I hope all your health and weight-loss dreams come true. Mine did. All the best,

Hi Jill,
Just wanted to offer you some encouragement as you await surgery. Dr. Davidson was my surgeon and did a great job. My experience with he and his staff is 100% positive. I had surgery on Nov. 17ty 2003. As of today I am down 85lbs. I have 31lbs to go. Things went so well for me that my wife decided to have the surgery in December 2003. She's down 55lbs. Her surgery had a minor complication in that she had an undiagnosed hernia from a previous appendectomy. Dr. Davidson discovered and repaired it. We are both doing fine. We have both learned that deep fried foods and suger are no-nos. Not a problem. Also, both of us have experienced a very positive side effect of Dr. Davidson's particular practice of leaving a very small pouch. Our attitude toward food has changed. While we stil enjoy the taste of good food, neither of us now eat for pleasure. Rather, we tend to think of what to eat in terms of what can be easily eaten. In all, our experience with Dr. Davidson and WLS has been very positive. The post-op followup has been great.
Sooooo "don't worry, Be Happy!"
