Marti, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Grandmother. I truly understand your sorrow. I lost my Grandmother over 18 years ago and I felt it when she was dying. We had such a strong connection. I still grieve for her. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Many blessings to you.

Hi Marti....I just read your latest posting. What a horror story! I had a procedure done in March to prep for my surgery and had a very stressful time because instructions were lost and they were not ready for me when I got there. It felt so strange to have people in the OR asking me what I was there for????? I can't imagine not feeling well and having that happen...that is frightening. My surgery is set for the 26th and I just had my pre-op yesterday, everything went really smoothly and I'm hoping that all the pre-surgery prep work pays off this time. Good luck and I hope you are feeling better.

Butterflys are a great symbol of WLS patients. Like the caterpillar, we move slowly. We are not particularly attractive - and most of us are a bit round. Soon, we enter the cocoon stage, where we hide from everyone and everything, and EAT and SLEEP. Then, when the time is right, we emerge from the cocoon, spread our wings, and when they are dry, we fly off, seeking summer flowers. I love the analogy, and can't think of a thing that is better. So, first the butterflies in your stomach, and in your thoughts - pretty soon, you will have them in your heart, and you will be so proud of yourself, and feeling darn good, too!" Best of luck. Don't forget to wiggle your new wings. :) May God Bless You and Yours. ~

I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another....observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under contron in its widest sense. May God keep you close to his side as you travel this new journey. Know that you are not alone. You will always have us, your AMOS family. We will share your joys, fears, slips and triumphs. You will find this to be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that is what I discovered. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Good luck and God Bless. RNY 10/31/03 down 78 pounds!!!
