Lorri...research, research, and more research, thats my advice! I was told by my WLS surgeon that at my weight (367lbs) I had less than a 5% chance of taking the weight off by diet and exercise alone. I wish I had known that at your age(I'm 35). Believe me I did try to lose the weight. I spent one and a half years going weekly to an Eating Disorders Clinic. I wouldn't change it for the world because I learned so much about my eating habits but I'm now heavier then before. They discouraged WLS at the clinic but towards the end I knew WLS was the answer for me. I'm sooo sick of watching my life pass before my eyes as I stand on the side lines! I have had Dr.s that made me cry to the present one I have now who is the most wonderful supportive person I could ask for. Don't let your Dr. make the choice for you! It's your decision and yours alone! Good Luck!     — HeidiXOXO
