Dr L made me feel completely at ease and was incredibly professional and encouraging about my progress to date and my expected outcome after PS. I'm not yet ready for PS, but he really put me at ease about the process and what I need to do to get ready. Dr L is very friendly and personable and I would recommend him to anyone interested in a realistic consultation that is informative and very helpful. |

I had a LBL, BA/BL on 10/31/2007 and look amazing cause of his artistry and dedication to perfection, attention to detail, and superior aftercare. I could call him day or night and he is always there for me. His passion for helping those of us with excessive skin and post WLS concerns of nutrition and healing is superior to any of the other surgeons I have interviewed or known. His office staff is outstanding and helpful at every turn- Jill, Miranda, Patsy and Sally cared for me and my family every step of the way and I value their care as well. Dr. L never allows you to go beyond real expectations so unlike other doctors and I am grateful and proud to recommend him to anyone- he is MORE than a surgeon to me, he is my angel!!! |

| Comments: | I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. L a few months ago for a meet/greet with others interested in plastis surgery. I have met with him several times after that and there is no doubt in my mind he is the best of the best. I had gone to other plastic surgeons and while they were all nice/board certified/qualified, when I met with Dr. L , there really was not anyone who could come close to his expertise. My surgery date for the LBL is in 2 weeks and I am over the moon. This is the final phase of this long journey and to finally see the results is making my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. The staff are delightful and the upstairs spa is a lovely addition. I am getting laser treatments for a more even complexion ..His medi-spa has everything you need to do your own 'extreme makeover' :) ..You will not be disappointed , trust me he is the best! |

| Comments: | Dr. LoMonaco and his staff are EXCELLENT at setting realistic expectations. Dr. LoMonaco explained the results I could expect and he was right on target. He is a perfectionist!!! I had a lower body lift and breast lift after having lost 100+ pounds. I and all my friends and family are AMAZED at the results. I can't wait to have my second surgery (it's already planned!;-) - an inner thigh lift, breast implants and arm lift.
Dr. LoMonaco and his staff - Jill, Patsy, Sally, Miranda, Michelle - always answer my questions - email, phone or otherwise. My surgery was well worth the $$$ and time I spent recuperating.
I had some reservation about Twelve Oaks Hospital, primarily because I work in the TX Medical Center and because it was not in the TX Medical Center, I wasn't familiar with Twelve Oaks. The nursing staff at Twelve Oaks, especially Laurie, were WONDERFUL. I couldn't have asked for better care!
I couldn't be happier or more satisfied with my reconstructive surgery experience. I finally feel 'normal'.

| Comments: | Dr. LoMonaco is a very experienced plastic surgeon who is very committed to WLS patients and our specific needs. He answered all of my questions and helped put my mind at ease regarding my reconstructive surgery needs. He did the best he could to level set my expectations. Truth be told, I was not prepared for the pain and post-care requirements following my lower body lift on 09/05/07, but Dr. LoMonaco's office called me each day for a week following my surgery to check up on me.
Update - I had my Stage 2 surgery (an arm lift, side of chest lift and inner thigh lift) with Dr. LoMonaco on 01/29/08. I feel and look great! My pain is minimal. It feels good to finally be done with my reconstructive surgeries!

He explained with my massive weight lose what I should and should not expect. I can appreciate the truthfulness in what he could do for me. I am very satisfied at 8 weeks out in what I am seeing.
I would not have choosen anyone else. I choose to pay for my surgery instead of having it covered by insurance. With my massive amount of skin I could not risk going anywhere else. |

| Comments: | After having a lower body lift with Dr. LoMonaco, I only have praises for this wonder doctor and surgeon. Dr. LoMonaco and his staff put me at ease. He took the time to answer all my questions and didn’t rush me during this process. I met with several other surgeons but I knew that Dr. LoMonaco was the surgeon that I wanted for my lower body lift. After losing 170 lbs from my gastric bypass, I was ready to tackle the excess skin that was hanging from my stomach, hips and thighs. I e-mail Dr. L several times during my decision making and he was quick to respond to each and every e-mail. I had my surgery on June 27, 2007. DrL removed over 12 lbs of skin and I must admit it wasn’t an easy surgery. Dr. LoMonaco was there for me the entire time I was in the hospital, coming in to check on me late in the evening and calling me and my bariatric surgeon when he had concerns about the pain and pressure I was having in my stomach. It is so nice to be able to put on a pair of pants and not have to tuck in my excess skin in order to button and zip them up. I have the flattest stomach; I just can’t believe the results. Dr. LoMonaco has a genuine concern for weight loss patients. He gives his reconstructed surgery patients top priority. I am now in the process of arranging my upper body lift. This is the last step to closing the final chapter to my book on obesity. My bariatric surgeon and Dr. LoMonaco has giving me a new life. My self esteem has sky rocketed and I have never been happier. I want to thank Dr.L, Jill, Sally, Cynthia and the entire staff for being so concerned and compassionated to me. I highly recommend him to anyone who is considering removal of excess skin following massive weight loss. Dr. LoMonaco is the greatest. |

Dr. L has been to my support group to speak with my group and of course they loved him.
Dr. L has the best bedside manners.
I have not known too many other plastic surgeons who answer their own email and give out their cell phone number to their patients.

| Comments: | This is going to be lengthy but I hope it's helpful for others in the Texas area who are considering plastic surgery with Dr. LoMonaco. After spending almost $1000 on many consults throughout Texas and New York for my lower body lift, I selected Dr. LoMonaco. I definitely did my homework and after meeting with him, Jill, Sally and the rest of the staff - my decision was made. There was no better listener, he really looked at my body shape (I had lost 150 pounds three years ago) and told me exactly what would be best for me. His non-medical experience really helps him sculpt bodies for best results. In June when I met with him, he told me exactly what I should do to prepare for the surgery (supplement with daily protein drinks for optimal healing; work out and get my resting heart rate down for best recovery from anaesthesia; work out with weights to strengthen arms and legs to help with movement after surgery). I did it all and was totally ready for my 8/17 surgery date. During the three months prior to surgery, I had lots of questions and Dr. L or Jill were always quick to respond to emails. In fact, I even posted a general question on OH regarding purchasing medical insurance for non-covered insurance procedures, and Dr. L himself answered me without realizing that I was already a patient of his! I travelled from San Antonio for the surgery and Dr. LoMonaco and his staff had an excellent hotel prepared to help me with my after-care. The surgery and pain management went well! I was in the hospital for three days. The nursing staff and room accomodations that Dr. L uses was excellent - I couldn't ask for more attentive nurses. After three days I went to the hotel which was excellent for recovery. Dr. L managed to negotiate a lift chair, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was handicapped accessible, there was a microwave and small refrigerator. I bought a toaster and had also purchased some medical supplies that were very helpful to have (email me if you would like to know what I brought with me!). The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, bringing extra towels, face cloths and pillows. Dr. L gave me his personal cell number and said I could call day and night; Patsy called daily to get drain measurements, Dr L visited me in the hotel for a surprise visit, and Sally came to my hotel to take out some staples and my two drains . 5 days out of the hospital Dr. L cleared me for travel back home to San Antonio! What a pleasant surprise. I'm doing GREAT - feeling better every day. My lumps and bumps are gone, I'm nicely rounded, My knees are thinner, butt lifted, and extra skin tightened. I just can't believe the excellent work that produced a well-rounded body that after the swelling is gone will fit so much better into clothes. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. LoMonaco to anyone who is considering a LBL - and believe there is no one more experienced, pleasant to work with, and professional than him and his staff. Like Dr. Stegemann (my WLS surgeon), Dr. L is also my hero and I'll be forever thankful to him for helping me feel better about myself. |

| Comments: | Can't say enough about the great Dr. L he is wonderful. He was my pick from the first time I heard him speak at the OH convention in Houston 2005. I did do my home work an check with others but he was the one that I knew I would go with for my plastics. There is so much I could say about him, as he is truly a god sent surgeon. He is there for you any time day or night an will answer in any an all question you throw at him. He is very honest with you and what can or can not be done or how it will look afterwards. He listens an lets you ask as many question as you want with out hurrying you out the door. His bedside manor is great I just love him to death. My husband is not easy to please when it comes to doctors but he has a very high respect for Dr. L. an how he takes care of his patients. I am from out of town and he an his staff have still been there for me when I needed to speak to them. So anyone looking for the best in my opinion should at least talk to Dr. L, because he is a one of a kind doctor an his patients come first.
PS. I am now 4 months out from LBL. Breast lift and Butt Augmentation. I am doing great an still have had Dr L's an his staff support. Again Love him to death!! Not just a wonderful doctor but all around person.

| Comments: | I am part of a large support group in San Antonio which meets consistently, called Staple Mates/ WeightWise/ New Demensions. After losing almost 8 dress sizes, I decided I was ready for the next phase in weight loss...reconstructive surgery. After visiting plastic surgeons in San Antonio, I was not satisfied with my consultations and the surgeons I met. My requirements of a surgeon was that they specialized in the field of reconstructive surgery, plus felt comfortable in proceeding with more than one surgery at one time. In lower body lifts, it felt like mosts surgeon's in my area were not experts in this, plus they would not work with insurances(even with out of network benefits). The feel of it was that most plastic surgeons were not open to working with insuraces. I learned of Dr. LoMonoco work by OH magazine. I consulted with him and was impressed with his work, experience, and how detailed he is. Dr. L, did not rush through the consultation and answers all my questions. I enjoyed his approach. What is important to me is not only how talented of a surgeon you are... also as equally important is the doctor's bedside manner. After all, if you are going to place your life in the hands of a talented surgeon, you need to make sure you feel comfortable with them and enjoy speaking to them. I have chosen Dr. LoMonoco as my surgeon and in the next month plan to have a body lift. I will update on the process. |

He has great compassion for weight loss patients and goes above and beyond to help them achieve their dreams. I will be forever indebted to him for changing my life. He has given me back my self-esteem and confidence with my new body. I have had two surgeries with him, a LBL in June of 06 and a revision in Nov. 06. I will have my last round with him in June of 07. In my opinion, there is no one who is more skilled, professional, and caring than Dr. LoMonaco. I travel a long distance to see him. He has been extremely accomodating, opening on Saturdays and seeing me late in the afternoon after having surgery all day. He also gives you his cell number and answers it himself. | Comments: | Dr. LoMonaco….what can I say about this man??? He has helped me change my life! Not quite 2 years ago, I had weight loss surgery. I was nearly 300 pounds and absolutely miserable. After losing around 100 lbs, and reading a lot about him, I knew I wanted him as my surgeon. However, he was out of network for my insurance so I opted for a consult with another surgeon. I wasn’t really pleased with this other surgeon, so I put my info on the obesityhelp website and within a day or two, he emailed me. Turns out, his office was able to work with my insurance. I went in for a consult and was instantly impressed. I immediately felt he was the surgeon for me. He made me feel very comfortable… seemed extremely sincere and caring. He spent quite a bit of time with me explaining my options and showing me pictures of previous patients/surgeries so I would know what to expect. He was outgoing and friendly and I knew I had made the right choice when I left his office. After going over my options, I decided on the extended tummy tuck with lipo. Included in that was a pubic lift, muscle repair and a hernia repair. That surgery was in February 2006. I came through the surgery fine with no complications, but did develop a lot of post op swelling in my abdomen. Dr. L had me come in every week for a long while since my swelling was so bad. In that time, I felt very comfortable in that if I had any questions or concerns, all I had to do was call him, his office or email him. He always responded very quickly. My swelling lasted about 5 months, then finally subsided. While the tummy tuck removed all the hanging skin(I think he said he removed around 12 lbs), it did leave me with pretty big dog ears on each hip. He did warn me of this before surgery.
A few months ago, Dr. LoMonaco and I decided to go ahead and extend the scar all the way around to get rid of the dog ears, tighten the last little bit of excess skin I had on my abdomen and do a buttock lift. This was done only 2.5 weeks ago and my results are amazing! So far, I have had no complications other than a little incision separation on my hip which I was told is to be expected. I am very pleased with this surgery. No more cellulite/loose skin on my behind or on the back of my legs... a nice, tight, flat tummy and no dog ears! Between Dr. L removing the excess fat/skin from both of my surgeries and me watching what I eat and exercising, I have since lost another 35 lbs, bringing my total weight loss to 135 lbs. This last surgery was on a Friday morning. He called me Friday evening, came to check on me Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday to release me. After coming home, I received a phone call every day for the first week from his staff, asking about my recovery and whether or not I had any questions/concerns(Thank you so much Patsy, Jill, Aimee and Cynthia….You guys are wonderful and so very helpful).
I could go on and on about this Dr.….I think he’s an awesome surgeon. I know he really cares about the welfare of his patients. A lot of doctors can be very arrogant, but Dr. L shows none of that. Not only does he have very skilled hands, but his demeanor, bedside manner and compassion for his patients is what I was/am most impressed with. In my opinion, he is one of a kind! | Comments: | WOW! I can not say enough about him! He has the absolute BEST bedside manner of any doctor I have ever been to (and I've been to A LOT). He is also a true sculptor in every sense of the word. I had a lower body lift and I look good enough to wear a bikini after a 160 pound weight loss. My stomach is completely flat and I have no fat left on my hips, etc... I can not reccommend him enough. His expertise and professionalism are both extraordinary and are unsurpassed by any other surgeon I visited ( I saw six plastic surgeons prior to my surgery). Even the nurses who changed my bandages at St. Lukes stated that my surgery looked better than any they had seen before and that included six others on the floor who had undergone the same procedures. I could not be happier and I must add that I look GREAT!!! I have also had the entire rest of my body done and I must say it looks awesome. My scars are minimal and the best part about Dr. Lomonaco is that he is a perfectionist. That is the best quality to find in a plastic surgeon! He is awesome and I look awesome! |

| Comments: | So far my experience has been fantastic. I consulted with Dr. LoMonaco in March of 2005 to address the issues of excess skin left by a 200+ weight loss over the last 10 years. He was very upfront about what he could and could not do for me. He was very specific about the special considerations needed to correct problems associated with weight loss vs correcting the problems of a person with minimal/shorter term weight loss. I was very impressed that he takes a different approach to reconstuct a weight loss patients body to give the best possible result. This was important to me. I worked in the medical center as a nurse for several years. Plastic surgeons wern't seen too often in my department. But one gave me some advice on a slow night several years ago. He said that they all are trained to do a nose job or a breast implant but some do better at one than the other. Find someone who is good in the particular area that you want worked on.
I needed to find someone with weight loss body reconstruction knowledge. I probably would have used that particular plastics guy but he said it himself a long time ago. He's a boob man.
I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repairs, outter thigh and buttock lift on Aug. 1, 2005. I must say that Dr. LoMonaco exceeded my expectations. My results are fantastic and they keep getting better as each week passes. Not to mention that his front and back office people are very nice and very good at what they do. They have never failed to answer any question or concern that I've had.
The care I have recieved has been exceptional. A good example of this was when I called from the hospital the day after surgery with some concerns about my dressings. Even though the issues were pretty minor, within an hour he was in my room with his assistant Patsy to inspect and my dressings and incisions. Domino's doesn't even make it to my house that fast.
I am planning for the second surgery in December of an arm and breast lift with implants maybe an inner thigh lift as well. I have no reservations about going back for round 2 of surgery. I know what I can expect from my doctor and his staff which is their absolute best. |

| Comments: | I began my plastics journey quite early, I was only 6 months Post-op. I had emailed Dr. LoMonaco's site and got a personal email back from him stating that it was good for me to make a consult now. Shortly after that I received a call from one of his patient coordinators with Dr. LoMonaco in the background saying "Get her in here for a consult" lol. I have nothing but praise and compliments and good things to say about this surgeon and his staff, as well as the hospital he does his surgery in. When I went to his consult, First of all it was no charge, Secondly, I had his attention and he kept my attention for almost 2 hours. He is very informative and is great with people that has lost weight like us WLS peeps. I finally had my plastics with im a year after my consult date (Full body lift- Tummy tuck, butt lift, outer thigh lift, and lip, as well as Breast lift with silicone implants) , which was 3 weeks ago on March 18th. The staff at Twelve Oaks Hospital are great as well. When I called for my pain meds they were there within 5 minutes. If it was too soon, they would be back as soon as it wasn't to give the medication. They were awesome and very kind, even the food people. My experience with Dr. LoMonaco was wonderful, and I highly reccomend him to anyone that is willing to travel or in the Houston area. I can't say enough about Dr. L. He's definitely a body artist. I can't be more happier with the results at 3 weeks. Thanks Dr. L and staff :) |

| Comments: | VERY NICE guy! He has zero ego, was extremely patient, and took lots of time showing me pictures and helping me to understand exactly what he recommends. Then he had his tech take pictures of me against a blue fabric background. After pulling the pics up on his computer, he used his mouse to "paint" with blue the areas that would disappear after my surgery. By coloring over the parts of me that would no longer be, he created the new silhouette that I would be left with after surgery...a "normal" healthy physique. He recommends and "extended abdominoplasty." This is a regular tummy tuck, however he would extend the lines of the incision further so that they would wrap around the "love handle" area. When I asked if they could be fixed with just liposuction, he told me that it wouldn't work. The areas are not just fatty, but the skin forms a "roll" that is pulling downward. Liposuction can smooth out skin that is elastic and taut, but once it's rolling/hanging downward, it has to have the excess removed to become flat. He felt another 25 - 30 lbs of weight loss would flatted out my manboobs which he doesn't think will need any work. If anything, some lipo there would flatten them if they don't change over the remaining loss. The good news is that he felt I was a great candidate for the surgery. He said that if I'd had told him that my RNY was 2 years ago and that my weight was stabilized, he would have no problem performing the abdominoplasty at my current size. (Unlike patients who really need to lose a lot of weight and turn to plastic surgeons to do this work for them.) This means that I've basically made it! Now I'm just working on the final stretch. I previously said I wouldn't have a weight goal, but let's just say my "unofficial" goal is 200. He estimated that surgery will take another 10 - 12 pounds off my body. So now I've got to get to work on this last 31 lbs. I still have a couple other surgeons to consult with, plus plenty of time before I will be doing this - so not firm decision yet. I am glad I went to see him however. |

If what you want does not agree with his way of thinking, then he will not only tell you, but he will take pictures of you and post them on his laptop and then show you with a pen how you will look, by erasing the areas so that you can see what the outcome will be. He is very patient with his patients and he listens very well. Even to patitents like me, who are very impatient he takes time to reassure that everything is okay and just do as he instructs you to.
