Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

15 year battle has ended !!!!! My behavior and emotional battle is that I ate when I was happy sad and just always hungry. I couldn't take my unhappiness anymore. I am 15 . I pleaded with my parents after every diet failed. We found an amazing dr and after being denied because of my age found a different ins company.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst was that I was always the girl with the pretty face and ugly body. I was always toned and on cheerleading but the largest one on the team. I barely fit into the uniform . I was always trying to keep up running with my teammates ect. Couldn't cross my legs always the one to introduce boys to my friends never does anyone want to date me.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I had the sleeve done and I'm down 30 lbs. in 6 weeks. I can eat everything and have no problems . No acid, gas, coldness ect. Just can eat everything put in much smaller portions. I went from 240 to 210 and I'm going to start private tumbling lessons so hopefully in sept I could make varsity cheer. I'm going into 11th grade and boys are actually starting to look at me . Today someone smiled at me and I looked behind me and nobody was there (did that cute guy just smile at me OMG Lol .
