Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I always considered myself an active fat person. I am not what people think of when they think of a heavy person. I don't watch much tv, get outside and do something everyday. My doctors say this is the only reason I never got to be heavier than I was. I have a problem with food, I never quit eating till I was overstuffed. I had completely forgotten what it felt like to feel full or satisfied. I had a serious fast food addiction and would kill for a diet dr pepper.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing about being overweight was missing out on life. Not being able to keep up with thinner folks. Not being able to do some activities because of my size.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I get up every day and feel great about what lies ahead! It truly has made a difference in how I feel and I feel better everyday!
