Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was an emotional wreck! I was afraid to speak to people in public, I would be afraid of what they thought of me. I used to always think my husband never loved me, even though he really truly do, It would be my mind frame. My life was very closed in, I would go to work then come home, My family and friends would ask me to go out with them but I would turn them down because I was ashamed of my weight and not having anything to wear. I was depressed and a living wreck.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Facing the world knowing you have a beautiful heart but everyone judge over looks. Also the worst thing is having a doctor telling you that your life span could be cut in half if I didn't do something and do something fast.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I can breath!!! I can run!! I can wear anything! I can face the world as being the little person inside the big person.
