Obesity & Me
Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I have what is know as "hand to mouth" disease. I always have to be putting something in my mouth. I have been heavy since about 3rd grade, and just keep gaining weight every year.
I am being treated for an episode of severe depression for the past year. I am very self-concious and have low self esteem. I would beat myself up after every failed diet.
What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?
Not being able to "fit" places -- in a booth at a restaurant, in a movie theater seat, an airplane seat, on roller coasters at the amusement park.
If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
Walking without getting short of breath.... and SEX!!!!!
