Exercise? A fat lot of good that is for weight loss

After my surgery I realized that it is definitely what we put in our mouths and how we use food to our advantage that melts the fat off. I began losing large amounts of weight without exercise, simply because I couldn't keep the bad food "down". I did begin to exercise more after I had lost 70 lbs and I believe that is because I just had more energy and felt lighter on my feet. 4 yrs later I had some lifestyle changes and I began letting myself eat foods that I wouldn't have thought of when I was losing weight and I became more exhausted and much less active due to "heavy feeling" my body was experiencing. Once I started getting my diet back on track it was easier to begin moving again. I believe this is a major factor for children with obesity. It is much easier to think about eating poorly when your body feels "too heavy" to move like our thinner counterparts. We have to get children to eat more protein and veggies and keep these "heavy foods" out of our lives.

Losing weight is 80% what we eat and 20% exercise.

Exercise burns calories and that you must burn calories to lose weight, exercise has another effect: it can stimulate hunger. That causes us to eat more, which in turn can negate the weight-loss benefits we just accrued. Exercise, in other words, isn't necessarily helping us lose weight. It may even be making it harder.
