I HAD IT DONE DECEMBER 16, 2008 AND IT FAILED NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ANOTHER SURG. LAP BAND ON TOP OF RNY. NOT BECAUSE OF NOT FOLLOWING PROCEDURES AND EATING RIGHT IT IS FROM SOME MINOR MEDICAL ISSUES. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU HAVE THIS DONE. FIND OUT PROS AND CONS IM NOT SAYING THIS WONT WORK FOR ANYONE ELSE JUST RESEARCH IT.

COULD ANYONE THAT HAS HAD THE rose PROCEDURE PLEASE POST A COMMENT ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE. I would find it most helpful for the research I am doing to fix a Fistula. I have gained 30lbs in the last year. Had RNY in 2006.I have had the fistula for about a year and a half. Thanks!

Gram 2: I had the ROSE in late February/Early March. I lost 10 pounds very quickly. I have lost a total of 16 punds. The ROSE is very different form the bypass. With the bypass the weight sort of fell off of me. I had the RNY in 2002 and gained 25 pounds in 2005/2006 after Katrina hit. I will say that I could not take off weight until I had the ROSE. I do get full much quicker than pre-ROSE, but I have to make sure I stop eating when I am full. I lost my job about 2 weeks ago and was scared that the weight would just come back on.....but it has not. My experience has been good, but my expectation was not that the weight would fall off of me. I would do it again. The only problem was a severe sore throat. I was back to work the next day. Hope that helps.

I had the ROSE procedure done in January of 2009 - and it has not worked due to improper placement by the surgeon. I have had a second opinion and another swallow test and it confirmed that it failed. I am now having to investigate options for repair which I told were not many if none. Having been told inaccurate information by the surgeon I used I wish I did not use him - he overstated the amount of surgeries he had assisted in. This surgery has only been around since January 2009 and only 300 people have had it done. All the comments you read about online are of "studies" - please note that it is hard to find any positive results from the study group - I wish I would have taken more stake in that fact no one is really talking about their positive results.. I regret it every day. The surgeons office was offended when I questioned the results - another big Red Flag. There was another person who had the ROSE done on the same day as I and hers failed also - and the surgeon now has her on Diet Pills - kinda scary if you ask me that he recognized his failure and is now poisoning her body with pills.
