New procedure could make fat melt

Rebecca Blaha wants to get rid of the extra fat on her belly.

"I can't get rid of it through diet and exercise," she said.

So she's about to try something new. It's called Zeltiq. A procedure that uses special cooling technology to get rid of unwanted fat without surgery.  Click here for full article.

Here's a link to info about it ....rather interesting, but I'm dubious. The FDA has not approved this product for fat loss. www.zeltiq.com

If I read this correctly it doesn't say anything about flab - just fat

I read the information on zeltiq.com for Canada and just wanted to share: "Who Is A Candidate? The ideal candidate for the Zeltiq Procedure is seeking to decrease specific areas of fat, such as abdominal fat, love handles (flanks), and/or back fat. Patients opting for the Zeltiq Procedure are generally interested in a noninvasive therapy offering noticeable but modest results. The Zeltiq Procedure is not intended for weigh loss or obesity; nor is it a substitute for liposuction procedures that remove a large volume of fat. A good candidate should be relatively fit and have modest-size fat bulges in areas that are not easily reduced through diet or exercise."

from what I've read: It uses near-freezing temperature to destroy the fat cells. It only works on a SMALL area at a time; A single treatment will cost less than a single surgery ... but you would need numerous treatments to attempt to remove excess fat. It does NOT SHRINK stretched out skin; you may still need plastic surgery to remove excess skin, depending on the amount of weight lost. And it won't be covered by insurance.

Hi Prette84 I would suggest a protien shake called Body By Vi. It is wonderful. I had Gastric in 06 and due to some situations gained 30 pounds of it back! I started these shakes and have lost the 30 but am smaller than when I lost the initial 70 from the gastric. I want to lose 30 more and am on my way! I also became anemic after and needed twice yearly infusions of venofer IV iron. It will be a year in Sept since my last infusion and I feel wonderful. More enery and lots of muscle. With these shakes you only lose fat and it works at the cellular level so your body uses it all! They are the only shake out there with a soy and whey protien that has an amino acid to push the protien into the muscle. I can say enough about it! If I would have found this before the surgery I would not have had it!! They replace a meal I use it twice a day for breakfast and lunch and a snake in between, and a healthy supper. You will tone up and lose the unwanted fat!! The are wonderful. If interested take a look at gerilyn.bodybyvi.com. Thanks And let me know if you have anymore questions!!

Hi, Techniques to melt fat ZELTIQ:FREEZE AWAY FAT The Zeltiq device absorbs on the focused stick out, then reveals the fat to chilling for about an time. Fat tissues are broken, but epidermis, veins, and anxiety are not. ZERONA:ZAP FAT WITH LASER LIGHT To cure the belly and hip and legs, the laser device eye in the center of the machine is placed over the stomach, while the four hands are over the hip and legs.
