My first impression, i thought he was to young to be a surgeon. He talked about a lot of the work he had done out west so i got very comforatble with him. His staff was very kind and friendly. They worked with you well. Anyone who has this surgery should see him. you should also go to that hospital if you want to be taken care of fast and safely. There was nothing i didn't like. It was a great experience. Doctor King was very conciderate and patient. He was very thorough with aftercare. Very positive to me. That's what you need. To know your in good hands. He adressed the risks very truthfully. And made it easy for me to understand. I rate it sucssesful. Overall i am alive and well. I have lost well over 200 pounds! I do not have sleep apnea anymore and Doctor King did a good job to make me comfortable. Both surgical competence and bedside manner worked well for me. He came to see me alot. It made me feel good that he cared. I have sent alot of people to see him. And 3 of them went for the surgery with him. Good job Doctor King!!!

After going thru the entire preop procedure, I had to switch docs at the last minute, as mine quit doing the surgery, as much as I was dissapointed, It turned out for the better when I found , and an easier procedure. Still major surgery, but less invasive. These folks are tops at this. William, the office manager needs a bit of help, but he does a great job. He could use an extra set of hands, just for the paperwork. I didn't notice a nurse either. I am assuming since they are just starting out in their new office things will be different. I have no complaints. This doctor obviously cares about her patients and takes the time with each one. My advice would be judt to keep on top of your paperwork, always make and extra set for yourself, and although someone else saus they will fax it, I'd say fax it to her office yourself, just to be sure. I'd give the office a 3

My first impression of Dr. King is that he knows his stuff. He explained the procedure in great detail and answered any questions that I had. I work in the medical field so I had a conversation with a physician I work with who played devil's advocate and thought of some questions I hadn't thought of. I wrote them down and called his office and Dr. King called me back that same day and answered my questions. He did not seem to have a problem at all with my calling him and I never once got the impression he was in a hurry to get our conversation over with.

My second appointment with Dr. King was basically to set up my surgery date. We spoke briefly and my date was set for 1/13/03.

I work at the hospital where Dr. King performs the surgery. Each physician that I have spoken to in our medical facility has spoken very higly of Dr. King as have the few people I have spoken with who have already had the surgery by Dr. King. I trust his ability and know that he will do what is best for me and the surgery I am about to undergo.

Dr. King's office staff has been nothing but helpful and each time I have had to call or in person, they have been warm and friendly. I have no hesitations about working with Dr. King and his office in the future and actually look forward to getting to know him and them better post op.

February 26, 2003 I still think Dr. King is wonderful. He has helped to start support group meetings at the hospital where I had the surgery and gave a very informative talk about WLS at the first meeting. He seems to genuinely care about his patients. I recently attended the 2nd meeting and he once again attended and answered some questions that people attending had. I like that he takes time with us in what I'm sure has become a busy life for him.

I have had 2 visits with Dr. King. One was to find out the informaton concerning the surgery and start the process and the second was to set my date. Both times he seemed very competent and caring. He works stresses that it is a team effort. The surgeon, psychologists and phyiscal therapists. I have seen the a psychologist and dietician - both of which I had to see to start the process of approval by my insurance. I believe I see the physical therapist after surgery when I can start excerise. I am looking forward to this although I am scared. My date is April 7th. The only "problem" is that he seems so young. This can also work in his favor though, since he will have been taught the lastest things.

I had my initial consultation with Dr. King on December 30th. The initial impression is one of caring, compassion and understanding.

Being a "Guy" it sometimes seems embarrasing breaking down when talking about the condition you are in. Dr. King seemed to really care and understand. My surgery is scheduled for Feb 17. I will let you know how it goes.

Jan 28th. Last night was the first meeting of the Barratric Support Group at Mary Washington Hospital. Dr. King gave a 30 to 40 minute presentation on Morbid Obesity. Originally there ware only about 40 people expected however there were close to 150 people there! WOW. Some were post, some had dates and many more were interested in the process. Dr. King truely had the audience captivated and tried to answer every question. Bravo Dr. King, his Lovely wife and Staff! What a wonderful calling for all of you! Your Tops Thank you!

My first impression of him was that he was very young to be doing this. I have come to learn that he is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. Some of the staff can be very tring but on the whole they have been good to me. I have not found anything yet that I don't like about him. He has a very could aftercare program which includes an excerise program at the hospital. Yes he has a structured aftercare program. Very honest about the risks. on a scale of 1-100 he gets a 90 because no one is perfect. Both his bedside manner and surgical competence are good and I think they are equally important. I know I made the right choice in letting Dr. King preform my surgery.

My first impression of Dr. King was his passion he seems to have for this specific surgery, not to mention he's pretty darn good-looking too. I have had 2 consultation visit and my confidence in his abilities has not wavered. His office staff has been very helpful specially when it come to getting documents for Insurance and ect. and answering all 50,0000 of my questions! The thing I liked the least was that HE IS SO DARN GOOD-LOOKING! lol There are I believe seven follow up appts. in the first year after surgery. We discussed the risk of surgery at both consultation visits. Overall I give him an A+. Of course I'm just getting started. Surgery in 26 days!
Surgical competence is of utmost importance.. bedside manner... Hey some have it some don't. It great if they do but I rather have crappy bedside manners then someone who is incompetent at the operating table!
