University of Colorado Hospital - Surgical Weight Loss Center

At the University of Colorado Hospital - Surgical Weight Loss Center, we are dedicated to providing personalized care and excellence in patient care. Located in beautiful Aurora, we are proud to serve patients throughout Colorado, surrounding states, and with patients throughout the country that travel to be our patient.

Our Surgical Weight Loss Center is led by nationally-recognized, board-certified bariatric surgeons who offer weight loss options for both adults and adolescents from the ages of 14-18. Our team works in conjunction with physicians from Children’s Hospital Colorado to assess adolescents who are struggling with obesity to determine if weight loss surgery is the best next step for them.

Understanding that weight loss surgery might not be the right solution for each individual, our team also offers non-surgical weight loss options. When it comes to a patient’s weight loss goals, we have both surgical and non-surgical treatments to choose what option they want.

We are proud that our center is an accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program with Adolescent and Obesity Medicine Qualifications (MBSAQIP). We are recognized as a Center of Excellence by Aetna, Cigna, Optum, and Anthem.

At the University of Colorado Hospital, you will find expert surgeons, nurses, dietitians, a patient navigator to help guide you through your weight loss journey, and other leading experts to help educate and support you before, during, and after surgery. We believe in patient education, so we have a surgical weight loss library.

Our patients enjoy the specially equipped private hospital rooms, operating rooms equipped with the latest laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgical technology, and a safe and warm atmosphere for your comfort and healing.
