Dr. English is amazing. He was so kind prior to surgery and the day of surgery he went the extra mile to help me relax just prior to surgery. He has a very gentle and caring personality. His staff has been wonderful and also very kind. I am so glad I waited to have Dr. English do my surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

This guy is really cool! I liked his style from the very beginning. His office staff is just exceptional and he has an excellent bedside manner and most importantly, he knows what he's doing! He explains everything in a way that you (the patient) can understand. He doesn't scold you like most doctors do, but he really tries to help you stay focused on your goals. He participated in a fellow-ship trained program and he graduated as one of the top students in his class at Stanford University! On a 1-10 scale, 10 being the best I would rate Dr. Williams as a 10 for sure! I really like the fact that he doesn't act like an insufferable know it all and he doesn't have a big head just because he carries the title \"surgeon\". He is very kind and caring. I would definetly reccommend Dr. Williams to anyone close to TN that is looking for a good bariatric surgeon. He just has his head on straight!

He is the best, He is soo calming and peaceful feeling and he just makes you feel like it will all be okay, Thanks so much Dr English you are an amazing surgeon and I am soo thankful to have you. He is willing to spend whatever time you need to answer all your questions and my daughter even said to me wow he could just put you to sleep with how calming and peaceful he is. There is a reason his office has a center of excellence.

Excellent technical surgeon, very caring and very much interested in educating his patients.rnrnHe spent as much time with me as I wanted him to. He answered ALL questions, and the few he couldn't, he called in another person to answer.rnrnI have dealt with physicians for over 40 years as a Registered Nurse, and as a Rehabilitation Counselor. I have to say, he was among the best I have ever had contact with.rnrnI am NOT impressed by most physicians and medical clinics. I have to say, the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Vanderbilt University impressed me a great deal!rnrnBy the way, this list has him under two different names. His name is David Barret Williams, and he is listed under both his first and his middle name.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Williams. He was gentle and caring. He was straightforward about the possible problems but also doesn't loose site of the person behind the rerouted stomach.rnrnI had my surgery on Dec. 30 and was released on Dec. 31. Later that evening, I started vomiting which went through the night. My hubby called Dr. Williams at 5:30am on New Years Day. He explained my issues to which Dr. Williams replied, \"I'll see you at the hospital in an hour\". He was there and took excellent care. rnrnWhen my journey to WLS first started, this wasn't my first choice but due to insurance and other factors, this is where I ended up. I could not be more happy about where this journey has led me. I feel fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Williams and his staff.

My first impression of Dr. English was that he truly was someone who cares about his patients and takes the time to learn about each individual and discuss everything. Over time meeting with Dr. English I couldn't have felt more comfortable. He is just an amazing man! The office staff was excellent. They went above and beyond to get things done and make sure everything was going smoothly. I am so pleased with Dr. English and his staff. They are truly amazing!

Well informed professional that placed his patients concerns first. As our discussion became more in depth about my feelings and concerns for this procedure vs another procedure he listened to all the evidenced presented to him and stated that he truely understood my concerns. Dr. Williams always e-mail or called regarding any concerns with knowledge that I wish to discuss about any procedure. He never took longer than 24 hours to contact be back with inform that I was wanting to know. He would be the physician that I would recommand for this type of services. Not only was he concerned but he treated my family as if he was also working for them. My health issue was always first and formost in his mind. And when he was unable to answer an issue I felt really wonderful knowing that he would consult with his other team members and bring them into our discussion about my health. Dr. Williams never once made me feel as if he was just there to perform his job and leave me alone. His staff was always wonderful and expressed concerns also. My pre-op and post op care has been more than I could of every hoped for. Everything was explained to me and my family step by step. They not only explained to me once about what was going to happen but a total of 6 times before my surgery by every care giver that was on his team that day. Which let me know that his team was experienced and very knowledgeable of their jobs. When you have any type of surgery It is always a wonderful feeling knowing that you are going into a procedure where everyone on that staff know that they are instruments of Gods using their knowledge to help improve someone elses standard of living. And that is worth more than a million dollars. THANKS DR. WILLIAMS; AND STAFF FOR THE CARE AND COMPASSION RECEIVED AT VANDERBILT MEDICAL CENTER EAST.

Dr. English is now in Marquette, MIrnMarquette General Hospital recently became a Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery. rnI did not meet Dr. English until my Multi day as he was at a conference at my first appt. He was very caring and very knowledgeable. His staff is very caring and very easy to talk with. You see the Nutritionist and the Dr. or the PA at your 2 week, 6 week, and 3 month appts. After that you see the Dr. again at 6 months and you see the nutritionist whenever you need to. Dr. English and his staff are great and I am glad that they are in my life.
